what if everyone gave out tons of infractions? wud they have to ban us all?

I agree.
At present, this is only a test.
Personally, I hope that the feature is not permanently implemented.
It is guaranteed to cause trouble.

Every ban should be made because of a conscious human decision.
Not automated machine action.

Moderators can reverse unnecessary infractions and ban abusers.

Yes, but this is highly subjective and bound to take up huge amounts of time.
I guess it's a good thing that we have new mods all the way around. We're going to be busy, I guess...

Erm.. isn't 30 posts / 15 days a bit on the short side to be handing out warnings?

Another agreement from me.
A couple of months or 1000 posts is more like it.
This is a complicated environment and takes time for people to settle in.
30 posts is like, "Hey. You've been here a WHOLE day. Welcome to the Senate! You're a senior member now!"

I also move that the senior member be changed to something more imaginative. Something based on the Roman Senate perhaps.

But, I still hope that it doesn't even come to that...
