I just finished watching '300', and I noticed a striking similarity between Dr Lou Natic's ideologies, and those of the Spartans. Strength, survival of the fittest, if you're a malformed freak you should be left to die, yada yada (anyone who has read Lou's posts knows exactly what I mean). So the question here is: Would Dr Lou Natic flourish in ancient Spartan society? Would we have another King Leonidas on our hands, marching off to the fight the evil brown people from Asia?
Just because he's an advocate of the way of life, doesn't mean he'd fit in well. Frankly I think 99% of modern humans would have been tossed off the spartan mountain. Remember though, the spartan weakness was they did not adapt. I say again, it is not survival of the fittest, it is survival of the most adaptable.
ahh the spartan philosophy, who can fault it? dr lou would make a great spartan, we should go kick some persian ass together one day lou. peace.
Only they didn't march off the evil brown people went and attacked them Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Most of the persian rulers were actually quite a bit more egalitarian than the spartans, less so than many other greek city states though.
