Here it is - a place to post the worst lyrics you have ever heard. There have been plenty of bad songs over the years - which ones have the worst lyrics? Here's my nod... Not A Pretty Girl - Ani Difranco i am not a pretty girl that is not what i do i ain't no damsel in distress and i don't need to be rescued so put me down punk maybe you'd prefer a maiden fair isn't there a kitten stuck up a tree somewhere i am not an angry girl but it seems like i've got everyone fooled every time i say something they find hard to hear they chalk it up to my anger and never to their own fear and imagine you're a girl just trying to finally come clean knowing full well they'd prefer you were dirty and smiling and i am sorry i am not a maiden fair and i am not a kitten stuck up a tree somewhere and generally my generation wouldn't be caught dead working for the man and generally i agree with them trouble is you gotta have yourself an alternate plan and i have earned my disillusionment i have been working all of my life and i am a patriot i have been fighting the good fight and what if there are no damsels in distress what if i knew that and i called your bluff? don't you think every kitten figures out how to get down whether or not you ever show up i am not a pretty girl i don't want to be a pretty girl no i want to be more than a pretty girl Why do I choose this song? Simple. This song is a mess of pseudo-intellectual bullshite. And if there's one thing that ticks me off more than stupidity it's dumbarses trying to sound smart. I'm sorry Ani - which generation is it that "wouldn't be caught dead working for the man"?? Because the one you're a part of seems to be fucking A-list material for 'the man'. Give it a rest, babe. The world of feminism does not need a pseudo-intellect.
J-Lo Takes the Crown Great topic Ty, I think Miss Lopez made perhaps the worst hit song of our generation. J-Lo ~ "Jenny from the Block" Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block Used to have a little, now I have a lot No matter where I go, I know where I came from (from the Bronx!) Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block Used to have a little, now I have a lot No matter where I go, I know where I came from (from the Bronx!) From In Living Color and movie scripts To On the 6 to J. Lo to this headline clips I stayed grounded as the amounts roll in I'm real, I thought I told you I really been on Oprah That's just me Nothin phony, don't hate on me What you get is what you see Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block Used to have a little, now I have a lot No matter where I go, I know where I came from (from the Bronx!) Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block Used to have a little, now I have a lot No matter where I go, I know where I came from (from the Bronx!) I'm down to earth like this Rockin this business I've grown up so much I'm in control and loving it Rumors got me laughing, kid Love my life and my public Put God first Then can't forget to stay real To me it's like breathing Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block Used to have a little, now I have a lot No matter where I go, I know where I came from (from the Bronx!) Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block Used to have a little, now I have a lot No matter where I go, I know where I came from (from the Bronx!) It take hard work to cash checks So don't be fooled by the rocks that I got, now assets You get back what you put out Even if you take the good route Can't count the hood out After a while, you know who to blink with Just keep it real with the ones came in with Best thing to do is stay low, LOX and J.Lo Act like they don't, but they know Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block Used to have a little, now I have a lot No matter where I go, I know where I came from (from the Bronx!) Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block Used to have a little, now I have a lot No matter where I go, I know where I came from (from the Bronx!) Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got I'm still, I'm still Jenny from the block Used to have a little, now I have a lot No matter where I go, I know where I came from (from the Bronx!) Recovering from the J Lo blow Wow. It's hard not to second that J. Lo. nomination without question. I was unfortunate enough to hear that song. In fact, a friend of mine, a musician, saw me shortly after. "What's wrong? he asked. "I just heard the worst song ever." "I keep telling you, Eminem can rap! There's nothing else to the argument. Everybody knows he'll be over soon enough, but they're really that bored over there." "No, no, no," I said. "I think it was J. Lo." He paled considerably. "Was it ______?" (I cannot remember the title he listed.) "No. No. Something about Jenny from the block?" He paled vitally, looked at his shoes, started feeling the many pockets of his cargo pants and not-a-jacket-but-an-environmental-system. "Smoke this," he said. "Everything will be okay." "And if it isn't?" "Then we will smoke more." It's good to have friends. Meanwhile ... Nominees: Motley Crue, "Brandon"; Styx, "Lorelei"; Tiffany, "Mr. Mambo But the winner, above all else, is Dennis DeYoung, "Southbound Ryan" It's an ode to a stretch of highway. Seriously. And it has the most amazing "harmonica" part at the opening .... :m:, Tiassa Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Up in the middle of Tokyo I hit hydro Whenever I let my mind go It’s like psycho – suicidal Baby love it when I cut it like an animal Once again – it’s primetime – kamikaze That policeman tried to rob me That policeman is afraid of me But, he will never take away my dignity Someone take this glass away I’m not myself again I’m someone else again [CHORUS] Come on, here we go…. Shalala – here it comes again! What a crazy life! Up in the middle of Cali In an alley Makin’ love to the teenage lady Ya can’t fade me But don’t hate me She look just like Marsha Brady I kinda laugh when these girls try to play with me I told my ex-girlfriend, stay away from me I got a new girlfriend, and she’ll kick your ass I kinda wonder how long this kind of shit can last Someone take this glass away… [CHORUS] Come on, here we go…. This is the english translation of the austraian eurovision entry 2003 by alf poier; I like most animals on this earth But I really prefer little rabbits and bears Soon all birds and beetles will die But Adam's in bed with Eve busy reproducing Rabbits live in the woods Cats in the meadows And cockroaches Live under tiles Little rabbits have short noses And kittens soft paws And Mother Holle likes her wool From the african dromedary The difference between animals such as apes and primates Is no bigger than between noodles and pasta But whoever wants to know more about animals should study Biology or inform himself on my homepage Some animals have wings And others have fins Some live outdoors And others in cans Small rabbits….. This is the lyrics to Russia's eurovision 2003 entry with Tatu (the fake lesbians); Different nights, different people One wants - one doesn't, one loves - one doesn't Smbd comes off (falls behind), smbd jumps off Smbd will get tired wishing too much Smbd will turn wire tight to terminals Smbd will launch new topics Smbd is a braggart, smbd is a maniac Smbd is like u, smbd is like me Don't fire and don't extinguish Don't trust, don't fear, do not ask And calm down, and calm down! Don't trust, don't fear, do not ask Don't trust, don't fear, do not ask Don't trust, don't fear Don't trust, don't fear Don't trust, don't fear And do not ask! Somewhere is much of that, what is a few, But there'll be round-up on the roads, Smbd will take a risk, smbd will fail, Smbd will understand, but he won't help Smbd will leave, smbd'll be back, Smbd will find a New Sun, Smbd will back out into the bushes, smbd - into me, Smbd is like u, smbd is like me Don't fire and don't extinguish Don't trust, don't fear, do not ask And calm down, and calm down! Don't trust, don't fear, do not ask Don't trust, don't fear, do not ask Don't trust, don't fear Don't trust, don't fear Don't trust, don't fear And do not ask!… Suckky, eh? only at eurovison, maybe they sound more understandable in russian and german.
I laugh my ass off whenever I hear shit like this. It's Tittny Spears with not a girl, not yet a woman. Then what the hell is she then? Oh man... this is miserable. I used to think I had the answers to everything But now I know Life doesn't always Go my way, yeah... Feels like I'm caught in the middle That's when I realize... (Chorus) I'm not a girl Not yet a woman All I need is time A moment that is mine While I'm in between (Verse 2) I'm not a girl There is no need to protect me Its time that I Learn to face up to this on my own I've seen so much more than u know now So tell me to shut my eyes I'm not a girl Not yet a woman All I need is time A moment that is mine While I'm in between I'm not a girl But if u look at me closely You will see it my eyes This girl will always find Her way I'm not a girl (I'm not a girl don't tell me what to believe) Not Yet a woman (I'm just tryin to find the woman in me, yeah) All I need is time (All I need) A moment that is mine (That is mine) While I'm in between I'm not a girl Not yet a woman All I need is time (is All I need) A moment that is mine While I'm in between I'm not a girl Not yet a woman
there is too much shitty music out there, so instead of posting bad lyrics, im gonna post some really good ones: Asherah 1. Fallen I fall deep to your sweet eyes. Quietly we dance like two ghosts on a sheet of ice. If god were real he'd have our heads. A new feeling, I'm lost in this symphony. Falling through your hands is a love that won't die. This name won't die, can't die, will never see a cold lonliness. This fire burns for you. Don't put me out. Look in my eyes and sing, sing me a song tonight, a sweet lullaby, one with some heart. A true story about you and I. Run with our love so they can't take it away from us.
For great lyrics you just have to listen to some Pink Floyd songs. The lyrics of Time and Us and Them are very good.
da mans got it straight!!! totally agree with airavata on dis one...............although great music is still being produced (the likes of coldplay etc) examples (i feel old at 19!!!) of real music following airavata's excellent artist: Wish you were here: So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell, Blue skys from pain. Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail? A smile from a veil? Do you think you can tell? And did they get you to trade Your heros for ghosts? Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze? Cold comfort for change? And did you exchange A walk on part in the war For a lead role in a cage? How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here. On another note a song peeps should hear once and a while has got to be Winds of change the scorpians. Oh those memories!!! Winds of change: I follow the Moskva Down to Gorky Park Listening to the wind of change An August summer night Soldiers passing by Listening to the wind of change The world is closing in Did you ever think That we could be so close, like brothers The future's in the air I can feel it everywhere Blowing with the wind of change Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow dream away In the wind of change Walking down the street Distant memories Are buried in the past forever I follow the Moskva Down to Gorky Park Listening to the wind of change Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams With you and me Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow dream away in the wind of change The wind of change Blows straight into the face of time Like a stormwind that will ring the freedom bell For peace of mind Let your balalaika sing What my guitar wants to say Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow share their dreams With you and me Take me to the magic of the moment On a glory night Where the children of tomorrow dream away In the wind of change I should quit there..but not me take 5 out to hrear brothers in arms as well by dier straights!!!! i wont post lyrics for that 1...ENJOY ^_^
haha nice thread idea. J-lo has to take the crown. You can see a clear line between when people were writing lyrics for her and when she started contributing herself. Its freaking embarrassing. The producers spruce it up with a catchy beat but the lyrics are so distracting. She needs someone to break it to her but no one will. That girl is totally detached from reality. There's someone else with a similar problem.... bah, I was thinking about it the other day, I'll get back to you. That quasi new metallica song is a joke "i'm falling in anger with you!!" hahahahahaha I don't know if you guys know who delta goodrem is, you probably will soon, she has a nice voice but her lyrics are so prissy and wholesome. You'll see what I mean. Avril's lyrics are lame but there is a sort of campy comedic value to them, I'm sure that song about things changing on her mobile will be a big joke-hit in 15 years or so. I heard a song about aol instant messenger once that was hilarious, "be right back, brb, sign on and I-M me" Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
