seems to be a disappointed oli back in 2002 ... loosing against the most successful team on this planet in a final isn´t a disgrace. even reaching a final is something most countries can only dream about

maybe this time, even england can advance in this tournament - i just wouldn´t bet money on them.

I suppose not, but that doesn't mean you'll get to see it happen

It's strange, Germany and England have always had a similar talent pool to choose from, both are obsessed with football but I guess Germans have a better head for the big occasions.....that and they have had more than their fair share of luck over the years!

I hope England meet Germany in the next round, not that I would fancy England but at least it would provide both teams with a real challenge.

You're showing your ignorance here sunshine.
The ball was hit directly at him, he would have had to pick it up and chuck it in the net for it to be a goal, he was in the way that's all. If he was any good he would have snatched it before it got on the guy's head The South African and Nigerian keepers have each made half a dozen saves much, much better than that.

After Bafana Bafana got spanked by Uruguay it seems that South Africa's lasting contribution to this World Cup will be the vuvuzela. You can expect those horns to turn up at footy games everywhere from now on.

I disagree about the save Spud, I think the ball had the potential of going in off another player if the keeper hadn't pushed it out. But that's just my opinion. You're right about some other great saves, but I just think it's harder for a keeper to save a low ball than one just over his head. With this new ball we could see some more crazy saves before the Cup is over.

Forlan was awesome last night, anyone got a bet on him being top goal scorer?

I'm still keen on Messi to be top goal scorer. He didn't quite find his range against Nigeria (and when he did, the keeper was almost unbeatable) but whenever he gets the ball he threatens the goal, he has to start scoring soon.
