Why is the TOR project supported by the US Navy?

After all, government doesn't like net anonimity. So I see here a little contradiction, unless the Navy/government can use its support for spying on the users...

The answer is because the US Navy is a "force for good" in the world.

The TOR guys are big liars. They say "don't use a torrent client and TOR because..." and list 3 things, but the real reason is that it takes away bandwidth from those who use it for legitimate (political) reasons, instead of copyright infringement.

At least be honest about it...
