Why did God do Satan’s bidding?

Christians are too religious to follow their moral sense and spiritual natures. Religion is directing your morals instead of your God given intelligence, moral sense and spiritual nature. I urge you to follow the teachings of spiritual teachers like Bishop Spong. A moral man.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AfFcAmx-Ro&feature=relmfu

Galileo -- "I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use."

Job 2; 3 And the LORD said unto Satan: 'Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a whole-hearted and an upright man, one that feareth God, and shunneth evil? and he still holdeth fast his integrity, although thou didst move Me against him, to destroy him without cause.

Fellow believers and Gnostic Christians like me; if you are a literalist or fundamental Christian or idol worship the God you have found in the Bible, I urge you to think of the story of Job and note from the wording that God is being manipulated by Satan. Satan bid God to move against Job without just cause and God did just that. God let Satan manipulate him.

I know that your mind set is to think that God is controlling Satan but as the wording and God’s actions clearly shows, this is not so. Satan ruled God that day.

Psa 5: 5 For Thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; evil shall not sojourn with Thee. 6 The boasters shall not stand in Thy sight; Thou hatest all workers of iniquity. 4 For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you.

As Job 2;3 shows, evil definitely dwells in God and definitely sojourn.

Some of you will say that regardless of the immorality of God’s actions, you can ignore them as you have a new covenant with Jesus. I see this as a cop out on your part. Jesus was not born divine. He had to become divine as we all must according to scriptures. These say he was a Rabbi only and had to force his apotheosis the way we all must through seeking God.

Job 25; 4 How then can man be just with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?
    Hebrew 5; 8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

If a man did what God did to Job, Christians would soundly condemn that man yet you elevate God for doing the same immoral actions. You do so because your fear death and crave heaven but your poor moral position insures that hell will be your end result as immoral souls do not earn heaven. Let evil be in your heart as God does but remember that recognizing it is what is important. Not the fact that it is there.

Do you realize that your morality has been compromised by religion and that you are not following the law of God that is written on your heart?
You are giving God a pass when you should be giving him a fail, ---- just as you would give an evil man?

Let your spiritual nature guide you. Not a corrupted religion.

The problem of evil goes far beyond what God did to Job to test his faith. But it's a good point. Christian mythology makes no sense even if you assume it's true.

God gave Satan dominion here so I would say that we are all his servants. Even you.

Satan was condemned a long time ago.

Why would God favor evil over good by letting Satan free, have dominion over mankind with his God given power to deceive us all?

    Justice delayed is justice denied.

    Do you agree?

I thing you have the title of the thread wrong, Satan was created by god, he does gods bidding.

You said it yourself in post 4. God gave him dominion over us.
Whatever god wants he creates, and whatever he doesn't like he destroys.
He must like Satan an awful lot. as he hasn't destroyed him.

Satan only ever killed ten people, and he shared those with god, whereas god on the other hand has killed millions.

No this thread is arse about face sir.

Satan is Tempt. He executes demons and smiles to the Heavens, being a Dragon. God made a bad man, those underlings of Hell, man they really did it to themselves.

A lot of angel's really respect what he does. Children sleep safely because of the angel Tempt. He's bad, he goes, but damn he does good.

I thought I was doing God's bidding by posting.

Do you not do what he tells you to do in scriptures?
I do the odd time and here you are trying to discourage me.

    How Satanic of you.

There are many contradiction in scripture and I just thought that I could trust to a small extent the words that God himself is saying and he is definitely saying that he was doing Satan' bidding.

If you do not think so then please interpret this for this linguistically challenged Frenchman.

"although thou didst move Me against him, to destroy him without cause."

I know thou didst is old language but to me that still says Satan moved God to do something.

    Satan's Role

He didn't. And here's the catch: God, like Satan, is proud. But God is also a coward, or else Satan is a proper tool of God.

    What does this mean?

Consider: God summons the heavenly host. Satan arrives among them. God brags to Satan about Job's faith. Satan points out that faith is easy if life is easy, and suggests that if God reached out His hand and took it all away, Job would recant.

So what does God do? He shrugs, looks at Satan, and says, "Fine. You do it."

Either God chickened out, or else He used Satan, as a right and proper tool of His dominion and Will, to perform an experiment on Job.

Can Satan legitimately tempt God? Only if that is God's Will.

    Hear, hear.

9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.
    -Job 1

...and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

4 And Satan answered the Lord, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.

5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.

6 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.
    -Job 2

If Satan made god do his bidding then why was his action against Job restricted in both cases? "only upon himself put not forth thine hand" and "but save his life". The one who sets the restrictions is the only one here with real power.

    To your first.
    This quote says he did.
"although thou didst move Me against him, to destroy him without cause."

    To your last.
God must have willed it then and wanted to win his bet with Satan regardless of having to do evil without cause.

Either way, God is shown to be a prick.

    Nehemiah 13:18
Did not your fathers thus, and did not our God bring all this evil upon us, and upon this city?

    Jeremiah 19:15
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it,

Amo 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?

How do those support ANYTHING you have claimed in this thread? Read your thread title again. You were not questioning whether god could bring what people call evil, but whether god did Satan's bidding. I have completely refuted this ridiculous notion, and instead of providing anything in support of your argument you simply change what argument you are making. Satan persuaded god to test Job. And? God will allow men to be tested by misfortune. And?

That is a necessity of allowing for free will, so let us hear your copy/paste rote about that yet again, as always failing to address the argument, just as you have done here. Seems to be your MO.

Power was mentioned and I wanted to show just who has the power over evil and who controls all evil.
Note how the ancients gave all that power to God and not to Satan.
    Hence, God was restricting himself.

I admit I could have connected the dots for you better but thought that you would get it without my doing so.
