Simply put , plants that used non-green absorbing chlorophyll had a distinct advantage over their competitors in a major way. They kicked ass, while others faded away. Eventually, they dominated their environment and pretty much everything else went extinct.

So My real obsession is the occurrence of Michel myths in history starting with a Sumeerian King named Meshkianggasher who is said to have mysteriously disappeared in the sea. It is also said that His son created the first written language , or accredited to his name anyway . Probably because he was king.
Trippy's basically said he didn't know and listed a load of speculative theories which did not seem overly convincing.
I am not going to go through all the speculative theories, not until he can at least put forward his best one or two with a bit more substance to them. I would feel like I was wasting my time otherwise because obviously most of them by definition are wrong is one of them is right.

There's no way for anyone to know exactly why they dominated, since we don't know what the exact conditions were at that time. Maybe it was atmospheric conditions...maybe some sort of virus or disease that plagued everything else, and they were the only ones that were immune....maybe it was just pure luck. Speculation is the best anyone can offer about that early in earth's history.
