BOUGHT, not downloaded. First one ever. Mine had to be Mariah Carey - butterfly....It was for my sister as a surprise (seriously, it was) My own style of music's first album would be Red Hot Chilli Peppers - califroniacation...which ironically my sister bought for me.
doubts he should admit it, but... Michael Jackson's "Bad" Right around his mulato phase if I'm not mistaken.
I don't remember for sure, but it was probably a Weird Al album. Either that or Alvin and the chipmunks.
Yessongs by Yes, in 1974 - lawnmowing money seemed to go a lot further back then. I first heard it at a friends house - his older sister played it - and the artwork was "far out" to a 13 year-old. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Peace.
Rubber little lady, slicker than a weasel Styx - Kilroy Was Here. What was your first favorite album? It's a tie: Elton John's Greatest Hits v.1 and Alice Cooper's Billion Dollar Babies. (Both "Crocodile Rock" and "Billion Dollar Babies" were performed on The Muppet Show.) I'm still unsure how exactly the records came to our possession, but I think someone actually died and they floated around the family until they landed at our house. (Before that, my dad accidentally got my brother and I hooked on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. Of course, we pulled for the Bee Gees instead of my folks' obsession with Anne Murray, Jim Croce, and John Denver.)
Some of my first words when I was a baby were the lyrics to 'funky town', and my parents bought it for me so i could sing along for their amusement. First album I bought was Greenday- dookie. I was so lame. I pretty much hate every cd I have ever bought.
The Doors- Greatest Hits. Man, that cassette and "No One Here Gets Out Alive" by Danny Sugarman were my Bibles in 9th grade. I still listen to the Doors everyday..like vitamines. Vitamine D.
First album was MC Hammer, Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em followed promptly by Vanilla Ice, To The Extreme. In my defence, because I must defend myself, it was only because the all the cute girls in my grade 5 class were buying the same albums. Though, honestly, I think it took a good 10 years for my musical taste to recover.
Move, slide your rump Just for a minute let's all do the bump, bump, bump. Buying music becase of the ladies? Rich in tradition! :m: Peace.
michael jackson ain't nothing to be ashamed of. errr wait. i mean liking his music. yes that's better. i don't remember the first one i bought myself. i don't tend to buy albums (cds), usually presents. first present would be green day-dookie when it first came out. god i loved that cd. maaad crush on billie joe armstrong.
My first album I ever bought with my own money was Millenium by the Backstreet Boys. Everyone liked them then and whatnot so I bought it, I'm ashamed, but I did. When my cousin found out he broke it in half and gave me a CD case with 5 Zeppelin CD's (nothing else), and told me to listen to them all, because that would burn the pop/rap culture out of me. He was right. Zeppelin II is still one of my all time favorites (although my musical taste has advanced alot since then). Good story huh...
My very first one was Smashing Pumpkins' (don't remember title, didn't see it in a while). So sad they broke up. So sad. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
