Why would anyone want to look forward to made-up character in a story that was made up some millions of years after humans were first defined? Also, why would anyone wait for what the bible says when it was based off of the epic of gilgamesh? as well as other stories from that time

Yes, it's a belief. It is what Christianity is built on. It's something we call faith. Now faith is the subtance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

    Faith is not evidence.

Though the universe is energy, and the energy might be God, the energy isn’t saying so one way or the other to me, at least not irrefutably.

I enter the controversy of religion briefly to point out the obvious. The concept of God brings with it the ability to choose. If you choose to have faith that there is a God or that there is not a God, it is an individual choice. Neither of those choices has any impact on whether there is or is not a God.

    We don’t know.

So to have faith or to be atheistic are two sides of the same dilemma. Until there is irrefutable proof one way or the other no one has the high ground. If you have faith and use it for you own purposes, fine. If you have faith and are moved to prove to the atheists that you are right you will fail. If you are an atheist and use it for your own purposes, fine. If you are an atheist and you are moved to prove to the theists that they are wrong you will fail. You shape the early beliefs of your children but don’t have the right to shape their children to your choice. My best advice is don’t try unless you have permission. Beyond teaching children, impromptu preaching about your choice for or not for God can be annoying so read the response of those you approach and back off if the response is negative. My advice is to be tolerant of other peoples beliefs.

The universe is energy. We don’t create or destroy energy, energy just is. There are scenarios that fit all of the evidence and that say that energy has always existed, and there scenarios that use speculative theoretical physics that imply otherwise. Some say that maybe energy was all in a point at some point and such a point would be of infinite energy density with no volume. (Does something with zero volume actually exist?) We don’t know which if any of the scenarios are right.

Though the universe is energy, and the energy might be God, we have no choice other than to accept the fact that we don’t know. We are free to choose. If there is no God we will never know it, but if there is a God, the possibility exits that we will someday know.

    Rightttttttttt...................! God's email: ask.god@askgod.com
If you don't get a reply, don't worry about it. It's nothing personal anyway.

Rightttttttttttt..........? Some how your response makes me think you send this same response when you see the word God in a post. Maybe you could point out something in my post you take exception to? Sometimes I think that people get their panties in swivet at the mention of God without applying any individual thought. You're not like that are you?

This is proof you guy's never listened to me, it's easy and im done with it all now. I know all the answers to these kind of questions I figured everything out ages ago. What more important is finding out how to make my new super hero costume with laser guns, light saber and jetpack with all the mod cons, make a thread about that.

The universe does not have an actual end you can't go beyond it once your inside it.

The universe is just like the internet, or say a computer. It has set rules implace, and is a huge realm of space. but when talking about size it would only apply to mass not space. Size does not matter when dealing with empty space, Just like Time does not matter when talking about the creation and start of the universe itself. Time is a construct of human minds it has no meaning beyond a simple measuring unit. Like a classroom full of goldfish wondering if there is anything outside of the fish bowl, (or huge tank would be better, how you like to be shoved in a tiny pisspot for your whole life).

Anyway this Question is much better the question of how the universe and existence itself was actualy created and what are the actual causes that led to the universe being created. WRONG!.

That question also sucks and is stupid, for something to be a "cause" that creates the "effect"------univere/existence) already implies that there is an acting universe already at work with cause and effect already in motion. The universe has always existed, it might not be the "known universe of today" But that's because shit changes nigga.... like it has always been the universe it's just not how it used to be, like your partners breasts wont be when she is 70.

What else don't you guys know, do you remember what I told you all about empty space?, Just because your dumb five senses can't detect that empty space is actualy a type of energy/form/substance/something. If your usual five senses fail then use your sixth, it's called a brain mixed with a dash of wisdom and instinct try to use it more. ^_^

What else do you guy's want to know?, is there a god or not?, yes there is some sort of higher conscious being, and he is alot smarter than you guys that's for sure, also he is proud of you all (talking about mankind) for how far we have come and we have found out many of his workings by ourselves, and he likes the things we make and our tech. But he don't think it's cool to be so evil and heartless when you don't need to be. It don't matter though it's only one planet, in one solar system, in one galaxy in one realm, in one network, in one corner of gods imagination.

Now, go make my robotic super hero suit with all the bells and whistles because im actualy going to attempt to be the worlds first super hero.

    Peace.

You cant get good thinking time in the city. but in a forest alone for 2 months you get plenty of good thinking time.. followed by more good thinking time, until thinking is annoying and you start to prefer just playing with the squirrels.

    peace.

Go beyond the boundaries of the known Universe, and I assume you'd enter a vast zone where the normal rules of physics don't apply--therefore, would be even able to continue existing? Would the new rules of physics be compatible enough with the rules that we're used to, that we could go on surviving?

The universe has no boundary and is probably eternal. I think the universe is actually the same as God. God is a spirit and he is considered to be infinite, eternal and is everywhere.

Some say that the universe is just a figment of our imagination and although this cannot be proven I believe it could be true. We believe the universe to be real and material but what if it actually isn't real? Just food for thought...

And your thinking is based on what?

Then why are there two separate words for it?

    Supposition.
And disproves your second point since the universe isn't a spirit.
