Microsoft To Give More Tablet Makers Windows 8 Discounts: "Microsoft Corp will expand discounts to more tablet makers using its Windows 8 software, an executive said, as it tries to stimulate the uptake of the operating system that has been met with lukewarm response partly due to its high retail price. .... The [8.1] update will also include improved search features and smoother ways to work on two things at once, like looking at a digital map while typing emails, Microsoft said."
