How about Badger or Manuel (lol). Seriously though, how can you get a rat in the house when all you really want to do to it is this: Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

It used to work for me with cats so I tried it with rats and it also worked. I don't know the reason, its just from trial and error. But yes, rats are very intelligent. They also remember stuff you do to them, so be nice. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! I suggest you practice handling them. Once you've got used to holding them (think of them as kittens, if it helps), the best way to catch them is with a long handled upside down pan. They run really fast, so you'll get plenty of exercise. I used to sometimes let mine out of their cages and put them in my pocket while I walked around to get them used to being handled. Remember, you are a lot bigger than they are- you scare them too!!! But don't you have cats?
yes i do, i ahve just the one now called Loki, he see's mice in the garden and he runs away, so i dont think there will eb any problems of him
Yea, but just think about it before getting one. You get one, you keep it and care for it. Although a rat to you is just a rat, it is also a living being. They deserve respect.
No, it's YOUR responsibility. YOU are the parent, YOU allow it into your house. YOU have to make sure the rat is being cared for by your daughter. A rat is NOT a toy. It deserves as much respect as your cat.
To be honest, I feel a little bit stress as I read this thread. Firstly, because of all the pictures of this specific animal. I have a traumatic experience; when I was a kid, my finger was bitten by one of them till bleeding while I was sleeping. Ever since that day, if I heard or see about the animal (the LA's pet to be) I had to associate them with something else. I feel so stress !ยง$$%$%&/&/&!!! Anyway, I tried to follow this thread and inactivate the 'show picture' setting of my internet, so I will be temporarily unable to view any image Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Secondly, as much as my phobia of her (excuse me for this personification, this is just to distract my thought so I won't feel too stress), I agree with Enmos, that if you decide to pet her (or any other animals), you should be also responsible for her. You should supervise your daughter and watch whether she gives her enough food, drinks, health care (like vaccination if any), etc. Also, I think no creature wants to be lonely, so if you decide to pet her, you could at least provide one friend for her, be it male or female, depends on whether you want to breed her or not. Be kind for her won't hurt Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
