Okay. Here're the rules: There are 2 categories: 1)-- Mainstream film. e.g: a blockbuster or large studio film that unexpectedly (or not) turned out to be a pile of shit. 2)-- A lower budget film. These are the sort of movies that you know are gonna suck but still manage to suprise you in their ability to blow monkey pole. Other than that, it's all open and free! I welcome a good slanging match, kids, so hop to it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll start us off: BLOCKBUSTER THAT WAS SHIT: The entire LOTR 'saga' (yawn-fest about nothing, made for and by dorks) SHIT FILM THAT WAS SHIT: 'Scorcher'. Stars Marc Dacascos, John Rhys Davies and Rutger Hauer. Concernes the end of the world. Really is shite. The Flemster.
The Flight of the Pheonix, starring Jimmy Stewart, totally awfull and slow, implausable premise and racist towards Arabs.
Conspiracy theory - I wanted to punch Mel Gibson for that piece of crap. Payback - another bad Mel Gibson flick The Good girl - Rave reviews were being given for the movie and performances so I thought this movie would rock....Jesus it was sleep inducing.
1. "The Wolf" with Jack Nicholson and Michelle Pfeiffer. I was embarrassed for the makers of this film. 2. "The Avengers" with Sean Connery, Uma Thurman and Ralph Fiennes. If you want to make a good film that consists entirely of clichees, then you gotta work very very hard. This one was a miserable excuse.
The Ninth Gate - A Polanski flick with Jonny Depp, in which not only does he look ugly, but the movie actually has NO ending AND no plot.
It's a toss up between LOTR and 2001... And low budget, crimeny. I've seen quite a lot of surprisingly good low budget films. But Oklahoma. It's just a stage and painted backgrounds. And that woman can't sing!
Blegh! I managed to watch only a few minutes of it ... so I really couldn't tell how much it sucked. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I though that was an okay-in-a-veg-out-with-a-beer-on-a-Sunday-afternoon kinda movie! And Stewart's always good! The Flemster.
Conspiracy Theory-- man, what a shite ending! Payback-- not a bad remake but Gibson isn't too hot at playing the bad guy (even when he's a 'nice' one). The Flemster.
