News has it that the social net is raging at the moment because Twitter has pulled 10's of thousands of Russian bot accounts that were aiding Trump and Trump supporters in their self delusions of grandeur.

Gotta wonder how many followers Trump has now the bots are gone.... hee hee

    fiction:
    The illusion of popularity.
"Trump wakes up to find the number of accounts following his Tweets has reduced to just a few media outlets...."

About half his original count is or was phony - about 15 million.

The striking thing, unique to Trump, is how often he retweeted bots, personally or via human agent (he is known to have employed people to tweet on his behalf using his account).

Trumps attacks on Mueller are likely to gain momentum as Mueller appears to be getting to close to the truth for comfort...

It seems that Trump is pushing for armed teachers....veterans preferred...mandatory training...

What do you think of that idea.

    Jumped the shark.
Maybe a small shark - but maybe not. Ripple effects, from that one, I think. It's an actual, visible, governing recommendation that has direct personal effects on locally influential people, and its stupidity is or will be manifest in their personal experience. It will happen to them, directly.

For starters, his voters don't respect teachers, and don't trust them with firearms. (There are already viral stories, from conceal carry States, of teachers shooting themselves or school equipment by accident) Trump voters are more likely to be veterans, police officers, etc, who more often have a clear idea of what a couple of hours of "firearms training" actually amount to in a crisis situation. The monetary cost, insurance etc, would be considerable, (could be hidden in Federal grants, but on paper in front of locals even so ). Trump voters often have "thought" leaders
(had trouble there: "thought leaders"? thought "leaders"? ""thought" leaders"? " 'thought' leaders"? " 'thought' 'leaders' "? "thought" "leaders"?)
    on local school boards.

Over the long term it would be cheaper, safer and more effective to just send all your kids to Australia for tuition....
Then a generation of kids that aren't paranoid can evolve and when the gun problem in the USA is brought under control you may actually find that you don't need them. ( hee hee the guns I mean)

Can you show a source on the "mandatory" bit?
Is that just training that is mandatory, or carrying as well?

Here's a link to the video wherein he also talks about better mental health and tv and video game violence

I don't have time to wade through an hour video.
I suspect only training is mandatory, which sounds reasonable. Not that carrying is somehow mandatory.

The irony of a Republican president talking about the need for better mental health services is apparently lost in general.
What used to be a field mark of post-Reagan Republicans, irony-deafness, has spread into the general public

Paid training, from the school budget.
At the end of which, they will be expected to recognize, identify, and shoot accurately to kill, the perpetrator(s) (and the perpetrators only) of an armed invasion and slaughter of the children in their school. With a handgun.

Things that US teachers are normally - in most schools - not paid to train in:
    CPR and emergency first aid.
Self defense and techniques for subduing the violent without injury.
Techniques and methods of instruction in various topics.
The latest advances and discoveries in their field of instruction.
The uses and problems of digital media, including the phones their students carry.
    English grammar beyond licensure minimum.
Any "foreign" language they don't already know, including one spoken by a large number of their students.
    Public speaking.

    Just off the cuff.
