As suggested, here is this months article for discussion on Science and Society:

    The case against long-distance relationships.

    Highlights:

    1. Are you willing to be a locasexual as well as a locavore?

    2. Breaking up a long distance relationship is better for the environment than going vegetarian

    3. Out-of-towners have less sex than local couples - and long stretches of abstinence between visits could lead to negative health outcomes and thus higher health care costs.

Are you in a long distance relationship? is it better to date local to save the planet? Discuss

Shutting off your computer will save the planet also.

You can't just substitute somebody else for that really special "significant other."

Among the 6.7 billion people upon the planet, people are still so special and one-of-a-kind, that one best hope onto that special Mr. or Mrs. Right, as one might never find another so wonderful again.

That distance can be shrunk, by marrying, and then making lots of kids.

Of course people may start their search locally, but maybe there is but just 1 Mrs. Right upon the planet. So if she doesn't work at your workplace, go to your Church already, live in your community, then maybe she is in the next community, or next state, or next country, etc.?

Actually, a technical note. Don't people's huge-screen TVs, now use more electricity than a computer?

So what do you suggest? Turn off all but one reading light, and read a book, in a seeming spotlight?

Oh I know, maybe that comment was a comeback to a supposedly stupid original thread posting?
