As our technology continues to advance, how is it going to change war? We are using less and less people. There are unmanned aircrafts, unmanned vehicles, all kinds of remoite controlled things to find the enemy and spy on people, and nuclear weapons and missles. Are we all going to become involved in a mutual war? Will there even be war (I hope)? Is it going to become a race for the best technology, again? It seems that we are moving in the direction of sending out metal in all directions, trying to smash more metal from the other side. No one would ever win. What do you think?

Even as much as technology grows, there will still be a need for the human element. Even the unmanned aircraft has a pilot flying it from a control center somewhere in the distance. Even when these unmanned aircraft do acquire a target to fire it's ordnance at, a human has to push the button, give the order, punch in the code to fire the ordnance. All the equipment you mentioned still needs a human controller.
All the equipment you mentioned is also used to save lives. If a UAV gets shot down, there is no pilot to be killed; and no pilot to be captured and exploited. We are developing remote controlled vehicles to go out into a firefight and retrieve wounded soldiers.
Yeah, we have nukes, but when was the last time one was used since Nagasaki?
I think it only gets dangerous when we get to the point where we will totally rely on technology to do our work for us. There will always be a need for the human element; lest we wind up in a scenario like the Terminator or the Matrix.
