The whole point of having a concise term, label, or word for _X_ conception is so you don't have to monotonously repeat details over and over again.

For instance, each time a person uses "Bible" they save themselves the trouble of either unpacking or reiterating a long-winded spiel of specifics like: "The Bible is a collection of religious texts or scriptures, some, all of which, or a variant of which, are held to be sacred in Christianity, Judaism, Samaritanism, Islam, Baha'i'ism and many other religions. The Bible is an anthology, a compilation of...."

Excellent. These classifications are not only frugal, but may help avoid confusion and misunderstanderings of your views. Well... barring those who are unable look them up, due to severe bouts of lethargy, etc.

Well, that could be taken as putting words in someone's mouth.

    ...

Is McConnell less of a person?

It means I'm a Christian and an evolutionist, that the all encompassing universe is the supreme authority, and that I'm guided by both objective truth and my personal subjective truth as an individual.

    OK.
Is "objective truth" different between Christians?

Objective truth is objective. Subjective truths very likely vary between everyone, no matter where you stand. I'm pretty certain of that one.

Wow! I must be so dumb cause I have learned so much. Those words are far less cryptic than a fortune cookie.

The Bible is subjective, in that it must be intepreted, since any facts - not to mention the people that wrote those facts - are all long gone. That there is a city called Jerusalem is objective, in part because it still exists.

That there is a Bible sitting on that table is an objective truth because no one can rationally deny its presence. Anyone can up to the table, with no knowledge aforehand, and come to the same conclusion about what's on the table as anyone else.

I just figured you were testing my views or whether I thought religious beliefs qualify as objective truths that can be verified and validated with evidence. I thought you were doubting my understanding of objective truth due to my being a Christian. I doubt you're dumb. I don't doubt the other stated presumptions I made about your inquiry.

    Well yeah.

    Do you have evidence?

I'd really like to know how you feel.

Other than that I can despise you.

About what? I presumed you were testing me to see if I knew the difference between objective and subjective. I announced my Christian Evolutionist leaning, so ... Was I wrong? You're not dumb, so I just assumed what I presumed to be your intentions.

I suggested starting a new thread if you wanted to start a new topic.

If it is about the Bible then I will want to contribute, it is an area of interest.

It would be pretty awesome if you actually were Britney.

I have always admired her work.
