Everyday I doubt who I am, and this video elegantly illustrates how we all fight through this war we call life, many of us never even realising what our flaws are or were.

Are you confident? Are you an idiots? Are you both?

When you think you are God, self-doubt is good I suppose. For the rest confident without being overly confident is the balance I guess.

Is confidence a good thing? Why does anyone have to be confident?

confidence is an illusion of the Ego
it is an illusion we use as a tool like a step ladder to reach up to something higher that would otherwise feel out of reach.

when you see someone who appears to be able to reach anything with little effort, it is most often an illusion.

truly centered people achieve easy things that come naturally and often the observation of these things appear like everything else would come easily.
this is also an illusion we often like to use to make our-self feel there is hope for things to become easier.

do not allow other peoples application of pragmatism become cold water upon your happiness or creativity as they will use that pragmatism to undermine you.

    it happens a lot online.

Confidence is an observers illusion most often desired by the Ego of the person knowing they are being observed.
    Ambition is very similar

yet lacking the skill set and ability to apply it while having confidence is a lie.
    "knowing you have the skills"
    vs
    "knowing you have confidence"
is a frequent deliberate misrepresentation of reality to service another persons Ego and personal ambitions
this is where they proclaim ambition is what you are lacking.
this is the lie of ambition

    Would you call yourself confident?

    no
calling myself confident is like telling everyone i have a big dick

the game of "confidence" is a game designed for inferior people who feel insecure and lacking in things that they have to make up for with external actions & gestures with others.

it is the Ego seeking to have its Ego stroked

psychological manipulation of mentally injured people is despicable
feeding people lines about them not being confident then offering to sell them something to make them confident is the same as an adult beating up a child.

instead of this lie(im not calling you a liar)
what is the real thing you wish to achieve that you can not ?

    for a mental exercise
list the difference in confidence that you perceive between
    A. serial killer
    B. battered wife(on going female domestic [physical sexual psychological]abuse victim)

The better question might be "Do you feel that you are generally a confident person"?

It's OK to be "smart" but you are a dick if you call yourself "smart".

avoiding the subject of the question by giving a veiled compliment
    ...

like all addictions(which everyone has various addictions to various things from emotions to chemicals to behaviours to material possessions etc...)

if you wish to confront an addiction of your own, then you need to be honest with yourself and those whom you seek therapy through.

"can i play with madness" ... i dont know, can you ?

do you want to play with madness or talk about "confidence" ?

    observable perceptions ...
how do we measure it ?
can we measure it when it is at rest ?
when it has occurred, can we see what it has produced ?
if we are looking at 2 people, 1 with confidence & the other without, what do we see ?

    what is our bias ?

most often common people define confidence as the emotional point of feeling discontent with their emotional well-being.

    couching
psychological couching of motive to create empirical evidence to change the nature of belief while allowing the addiction/bias to remain

"i want to be more confident" ...
to achieve what ? more money ? more sex ? more happiness ?
