And then for the next 100 years America under its constitution allowed Blacks to be second class citizens under segregation . Fact is the US Constitution is a blot of hot air .

Off your meds again I see.

It took Australia till 1967 to give equal rights to the Aboriginal people's, yah Foley, nice lecture, 1967, to 1967, and you want to lecture the U.S.

You Aussie's tried to wipe out the Aboriginal Culture by forced adoption of the Aboriginal children, and you want to lecture the U.S. about, integration and equal rights?????

Yes Foley how about the forced labor contracts?

Forced labor for the Aboriginals, that they were never paid for, isn't that slavery?

Men were regularly sent on 12-month work contracts, often on cattle ranches. Women were frequently despatched to white homes as domestic servants. Refusal to go incurred punishment or banishment to a penal island.

And, from 1904, the wages they earned went directly to local police-protectors- who were supposed to hand a fraction on to workers as -pocket money- and place the rest in trust funds.

But Dr Kidd found widespread evidence of fraud on the part of the protectors, indicating that workers often never received even pocket money.

The money that did end up in the trust funds was regularly siphoned into government revenue - often to be spent on capital works programmes. Very little of that money remains.

Yes Foley, slavery in Aussi Land, and you want to preach to the U.S.

-They are robbing and deceiving us again,- said Bob Weatherall, cultural officer for Faira, an indigenous rights group.

-Many of our elders, who were slaves, have died, and their offspring are not able to get reparations so they can progress in their communities. We want to create a viable economic base for our communities so we are not beggars, living off welfare. That's what we've been reduced to.-

Americans do a lot of boasting about their much vaunted constitution holding it up too other nations as the pinnacle of freedom..... But on closer inspection..........
Article-s I to II concern the powers invested into the President and Congress and the voting system , which as we know is not a proportional representative electoral system but an archaic rigged voting system designed to keep popular aspirations in check . Article III concerns the administration of the Judicial system , a system which many Americans attest to being a gravy train for the benefit of greedy lawyers . Article-s IV to VII concern the imposition of duty taxe-s etc . It is only with the Bill of Rights with Amendment I that is there any mention of freedom of speech , and then it does not guarantee your right to be heard or your right of reply in the media nor even laws governing the ownership of the press ! this document is completely impotent here are some examples slaverey existed a further 100 years under this constitution . Segregation existed as constitutional for 100 years after slavery ended . The mass murder of native Americans proceeded under the constitution . In the 1950s the Constitution protected witch hunts persecuted many innocent American . And today the most anti-human , anti-democratic homeland security bill and the Patriot Act monstrosity passed through congress with the protection of the constitution what a bargain the American people got !
I dont forget any oppressed people .

Everyone talks about how bad things are, but they're only going to get worse. We need to crackdown on the education system, that No Child Left Behind act was dumb as hell. If we can get education to be important again, I think that things will start to look up a little. With intelligence, I believe, there is peace, and with peace, we can stop all this crap about losing Liberty.

The Patriot act was a good IDEA, but not so much a good way to present it. It does take away our rights, yes, but it also PROTECTS US. If you raise no suspision, then you're safe, so stop bothering with it. Who knows? Maybe your own neighbor is a terrorist.
