This really depends on what affects you emotionally. The only songs that make me genuinely sad are lame 80s big hair pop rock hits. The songs that make me cry are more like sweet and nostalgic, some Mongolian folk songs, Appalachian murder ballads. The one I like best in this vein is this one:

If you're interested, check out the wiki on the F-104. It was an unforgiving aircraft, and between the training and maintenance issues, it had a very poor service record for the Luftwaffe. But it's a bit of a stretch to call them defective.

I've been following the chat and saving my bandwidth, lol....

Some unique sacrificial offerings among titles I recognize. As to the ones I don't recognize, there's probably a good reason.

Just so you don't pigeon-hole me as a 'killjoy',

here's my nomination for a song that reeks of pathos.

The original version by Mark Dinning was a sad song. Here it is sadly performed off key, with dubious embellishment by the group Sha Na Na.

I remember that original song was a big hit when I was in the 6th grade. A real tear jerker. Good one.

I guess sad is a point of view I couldn't get into with this track.

It's better if you can find the song on a YouTube site. I found one that might be the one you refered to. Anyway let me know.
