I will gladly now admitt you have appaerntly broken no Australian law. Although I find it quite difficult to believe that it only applies to persons and not organizations. Actually, I find it impossible to believe.

Iraq's election was quite set-up, hmm?

Now, can we please kindly get this thread closed? It's rather an embarassment having such a long-standing member sum up the american education system through one conversation with one 13 year old internet buddy.

    Chock me!

Anyone or anything for that matter has the right to talk politics. The obligation in learning and understanding what are you talking about is all different matter.

You don’t need to go to Australia, Canada or any other nation to find teenagers that don’t feel the responsibility of being educated, in fact, you don’t have to go that far at all. Check sciforums and you find all ages, all colors and all nationalities that are proving my point.

…You don’t have to be intelligent to prove that you are alliterated!

So, …..what’s the purpose of this tread??

She's 13. What's the point here, Asguard? That you have an abundence of 13 year old girls to talk to?

Yes, you do. You can't have private organizations like the KKK, but you.

technically all current democracies are not democracies but oligarchies...

let us not fool ourselves by thinking we have anything to say

I believe when Asguard is referrring to Australia "not being allowed to have organisations like the KKK" he's referring to current Victorian law regarding racial villification. It is in fact fairly draconian, and frankly I don't support it at all being in favour of free speech.

This should give you a rough idea...
    http://www.larouchepub.com/other/2001/2825_aussie_race_law.html

Bear in mind this is only one state in Australia. Other states do not have these laws, and I remember a case in Western Australia where a neo-nazi organisation was very public in it's activities and nothing could be done about it. The organisation (ANM - Australian Nationalists Movement) only disbanded when it's leaders were arrested and jailed for blowing up an asian shop. Prior to this illegal activity, however, they couldn't be touched.

Don't get the impression that Australia's laws regarding free speech are all so draconian. That's like saying that America is a dry country because alcohol is illegal in some of your bible belt states.

*edit... Actually, if we read through this carefully, it would appear that Asguard could in fact have broken the odd law by insulting the USA. Interesting.*

Asguard, I would advise you that your constant exposing of the people you chat to spamming and harassment is extremely poor netiquette.

Would a mod please remove the identification of Asguard's chat buddy from the post?

    spelling?????

thats not the point, who cares if you cant spell

it has to do with the ability to analise a piece of litrture to how the author is atempting to infulance you

which is the whole point of ALL the high school english classes (at least it is here)

an where is this skill used???

you dont use it when you read fiction for entitainment (cause you WANT to feel what the author intened), nor when you are reading instructions for doing something

its used to diesecte media pieces, goverment speaches and personal opinions

surpise surpise its used to be a well informed member of the world comunity
