Reading comments from Democrats and Liberals is like reading Michael Moore’s book on dieting and exercise.

One could argue that since Congress capped the number of representatives and the ratio of constituents to representatives is now over 700,000, that we do not have adequate representation.
Not sure that more reps would improve the situation. Our current 2-party situation pretty much ensures that more reps would only create larger party-line votes.

GH01, Smaller districts means that representatives are even more locally responsible instead of being able to act more nationally as they do today.

Not sure it really plays out that way though. Even districts these days seems very polarized. The whole blue/urban, red/rural thing. Big blue cities and large red areas would just get chopped into smaller districts, still decidedly blue or red like they are now. What we really need is more viable parties...but good luck getting that. :(

I don’t disagree that we need more parties with more varied policy ideas. It appears that the way to accomplish that is through increased representation with multiple representatives per district.

Kinda...sorta...that's how it is these days - plenty of "representatives", but not much representation. When was the last time your Congressman/woman asked you what you wanted done or how you wanted him/her to vote?
Yeah.. it was meant to be sarcastic.

So, given the idea that our form of government (representative democracy) is the "worst, except for all the others" (Churchill), what would a better form actually look like?

You just pointed out an omission from this software that really should be considered. In the editor under "Insert" there is markup language for QUOTE, SPOILER, CODE and STRIKETHRU, but no SARCASM. Somebody ought to fix that.
...but do you really mean that, or are you being sarcastic. Without the markup language I can't be sure. :D

You're right! Something that would format the sarcastic text with some kind of dripping, eyerolling graphic or something.

Remember kiddies.... "Trade wars can be your friend." (kinda reminds me of those old Industrial Ed movies we watched in school, "How sulfur makes your life better.")
