Yes, it would make it worse. And yes, invading a "friendly" nation like Pakistan is slightly more complex. And yes, there is a potential for nuclear conflagration. How many countries have been invaded in the name of Islam, and bombed? Actually the easier question is name the countries that haven't been invaded in the name of Islam and haven't been bombed in Islamic Terrorist attacks.

The Korean War successfully repelled the commies back to where they started from. The first gulf war achieved the goals set out for it, to drive Iraq's army out of Kuwait. We certainly had our failures too...
