I held a poll on that not so long ago. No one could come up with any atheists being killed for their [lack of] faith.

Plenty of Muslims being slaughtered for theirs.

I think you should visit Kenya. Or Somalia. Or Gaza. Or even Dharavi. Then come back and tell me how miserable your life is that all you do is fight with anonymous people on the internet.

Sadly, what usually passes for thinking is unsupported blind faith & absurd assinine arrogant assumptions such as yours.

I'll also throw out there, just for shits and giggles, that I don't live too far away from the big butter jesus, which just so happens to be within close vicinity of the hustler store and a giant flea market, and I kind of like that little conglomeration.

And tell them they are not alone, etc. True.

For someone who claims to despise Dawkins, you have a remarkably large area of agreement with him.

emotions are crap. compassion, righteousness, peace, and strength are not emotions. emotions are fickle, and temporary, and people do some really stupid things in response to them. emotions are not reasonable at all. emotions are often times the equivalent of anti-reason.

i just think they can be deceptive sometimes, so they shouldn't be a basis for decision making you know? i think something a little more rational should, like law (=love).

You know, happiness is an emotion as well.
I wouldn't call happiness crap at all.

I didn't get that last part by the way. Law=Love ?

And then you'd end up agreeing with Norsefire about euthanasia...

The problem with using emotions in decision-making is that those same emotions, in most people, are NOT reasonably controllable ...in fact, that's actually a part of the definition of "emotions". Emotions are also usually fleeting and changeable from one moment to the next ...hardly a good basis for making important decisions, is it?

Except for hatred ....that's a good emotion and should be used often and regularly on other humans!! Humans suck giant donkey dicks!

A lot of dumbass things can make you happy, that doesn't mean they're the right thing to do. Not always right or logical at all. But if you look at your intentions, love should drive them. And I'm not talking about romanticism, or sex, or codepence, just pure love. Love is not dependent on emotion.

    And how exactly is that?

Love, of course, ordinarily being understood as an emotion...

What about loving your enemies? Is that an emotion?

If it were possible, then I would have to say yes.
