I have an adsl connection and more two computer connected to mine thorugh ethernet, but even when they are offline, sometimes my adsl connection is a little slow, is there any trusted and efficient program for tweaking my network connections for maximum performance?

You might also want to check the power settings for the ASDL adapter, there is actually a hidden option in windows that will allow your system to "turn off the adapter to save power", this can slow your connection down and drop packets (Also if you are using Firefox, due to it being a Thirdparty browser thats not directly hooking into the windows system, it has to utilise different driver libraries to be able to render graphics etc and therefore can act a little slower)
