I've been to Malaysia - supposedly one of the most advanced Muslim countries - and what I found there was 'deeply shocking'. It's a matter of great irony that the only country in the world which even remotely conforms to a Nazi style system of government is the Islamic nation of Malaysia. There is intense and widespread 'racism' against Chinese and Indian Malaysians and a system of special privileges for the indigenous race - formally termed the bumiputra. Special privileges for the indigenous race include: Companies listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (Bursa Saham Kuala Lumpur) must find Bumiputras to take up a minimum 30% of equity to satisfy listing requirements. Foreign companies that wish to operate in Malaysia also must adhere to this requirement. A certain percentage of new housing in any development has to be sold to Bumiputra owners for limited period. Housing developers are required to provide a minimum 7% discount to Bumiputra buyers of these lots. A basket of government run (and profit guaranteed) mutual funds are available for purchase by Bumiputra buyers only........with return rates approximately 3 to 5 times that of local commercial banks. Many government tendered projects require that companies submitting tenders be bumiputra owned. Approved Permits (APs) for automobiles preferentially allow Bumiputra to import vehicles. Automotive companies wishing to bring in cars need to have an AP to do so. This situation has led some to term it Malaysian Apartheid. Malaysian society is obviously just a variation on dhimmitude. People keep saying racist when xenophobic might be a more accurate word. The words "Xenophobia" and "bigotry" lack the emotional context that the word racist carries. Some new word that is more inclusive than "racist" but retains the feeling of "racist" is needed.
