No, you just don't like jazz. Music doesn't have direct physical harms or reaction with the exceptions of loud, heavy bass. Just like loud music it can damage your ears over time but people who have sensitive ears can get headaches from extremely loud bass of low frequencies....as anyone who has this problem can tell when a car goes by with a jacked up sound system which is playing a heavy bass track. It causes physical pain.

Ohhhh...bad, bad idea....Very quickly killing off the cilia lining in your ears. I know it feels good and because you're young the effects, so far, are nigh but a bad idea. By 34-40 you'll be looking at hearing aids for support.
A forced reduction. What about the drugs and alcohol people consume while listening to a certain kind of music? I listen to a lot of classical music -- so where is my "high bloodpresure, insomnia, emotional instability mania and madness, nervous break downs, ulcers, heart troubles, diabetes, rheumatisms temporary permanent deafness" ?
Some "scientists" don't give enough credit to the human ability to mentally override instinctive and autonomic behavior. We can take conscious control over our breathing, which otherwise is an autonomic activity. We can't quite do that so directly with our heart rate and the dilation and contraction of our capillaries, but we can put ourselves into frames of mind that feed back into the autonomic system. Yoga works, TM works, biofeedback works. Dozens of different ways of altering unwanted autonomic behavior work. Ironically enough, music can be used to change our mood and feed it back into the autonomic systems. This scientist is not a fan of music so he didn't explore the ways that conscious or unconscious attention to music can be harnessed to overcome the very symptoms he describes. He's not much of a scientist. He only tries to prove his own hypothesis, rather than to discern the truth.
The initial post of this thread contains some truth, often quoted from reasonably reliable sources, put together in a particular way to make it look as if the author's conclusion naturally follows. In this case, it does not, and the article is misleading.
