There are plenty of studies that prove both. You can't honestly think poisonous smoke deeply inhaled/held in the lungs doesn't damage you? Honest addicts will admit they started with cigarettes and/or pot.

The reputable ones (and so, the actual proof) fall entirely on one side.

    Marijuana smoke is not poisonous.

Honest scientists will admit that people who smoke cigarettes and/or pot are no more likely to use harder drugs than the general population.

Honest addicts will admit that they started with sugar, progressed to alcohol, and only then moved on to illegal drugs.

I only know people who have gone from marijuana or alcohol.

You don't know anyone - addict or otherwise - whose first experiences with mood-altering substances were not with sugar.

    There aren't any such people.

And - again - there is scant evidence in favor of the gateway theory, and much against regardless.

This is sort of like saying,
never knew someone who was obese and hadn't fruit at some point.

ANY so called recreational drug is bad, and its a complete fallacy that it is none addictive as any smoker will tell you. There is also the usual crap counter arguement that so is booze which is totally none related to the point in question. All drugs that are 'used' out of context should be not only banned but MASSIVE fines for perpetrators.

My own government here in the UK had been secretly suppliyng criminal druggies to see if crime would fall, it did, by 85% in test areas, I am furious, my taxes are not there to provide junkies with bloody crap.

Driving whilst under the influence is deadly I cannot believe that people think this is 'safe' - amazingly stupid.

It's not GOOD for you, but isn't as bad as the older generations make it seem. It's far less dangerous to society and the individual then alcohol. So where is the outrage over it's use ?

But we certainly can't say that inhaling tar filled smoke is GOOD for you.

On the negative side, it does reduce your desire to work on tasks at hand. Which can then pile up over time. So, like any drug it can affect your success rate of long term goals.

Marijuana gave me bad paranoia and anxiety. So what I do now is I don't smoke it. Other people apparently don't have this side affect so maybe they can smoke it but not around me.

So it's bad for me and potentially good for others.

How refreshing: a person who does not and does not seem to want to
universalize his tastes and way of living.

Those people who smoke marijuana lightly have higher intelligence than those who have never smoked marijuana. Marijuana is not a gateway drug. You people need to cite some sources to make claims. As those who are ignorant on a subject should not make any judgement. Read up.

I WAS going to post 10 links but there is a ridiculous forum policy of 20 posts to do so. So google "marijuana studies" and read.
