    I can only see one potential problem.
    If the townspeople are openly voting on who to arrest, wouldn't it be obvious that whoever isn't voting is mafia ?
    So... the mafiosi will be voting and debating on who to arrest as well.. right ?

    The way I understand it, tough luck.

    No, the mafia members know who the other mafia members are. So they won't be killing any fellow mafiosi.

    Bad luck for that person. They are arrested and are out of the game. Nobody will know if they were or were not mafia until the end (except for the mafia players).

    No repercussions. It might be a good strategy to throw other players off the scent.

    The mafia get a vote during the day, same as everybody else. And they get to discuss who to vote for. They blend in with the townspeople during the day - or try to! Their suspicious actions might give them away, though...

    Mafia get to vote who to arrest, too.

    Once we have enough players, I will open the game thread.

    However, if that doesn't happen in the next half hour or so, I will be gone for the next 8-10 hours (sleeping - it's now 1 am where I am).

    I think more than about 20 people would be difficult to manage and would result in a game that potentially will go on too long, so I'll cap this one at 20 people max, 12 people minimum. First in gets to play.

    This thread will remain open. I have also added some more information to the game thread, which I will open once roles are assigned. Once the game starts, all gameplay should take place in the game thread, though. Discussions about the rules, if any, could happen in this thread or in the game thread.

    I know that people here are in a number of different time zones, so I'll try to make sure everybody gets enough time to post and vote in each round. Don't feel like you have to stay on the computer 24 hours a day. But try to check the game thread at least once every 24 hours, and more often if you can.
