Lolicon: Right Or Wrong?

Hey guys this is otaku :3

I was wondering what are all your opinions on the sub-art form of anime Lolicon.

Lolicon Focus's on Underage girls in an anime Art style.

So whats everyones opinion?

I would say that there is some lolicon that is ok and some that isn't so good. Depictions of underage girls who are happy is one thing, depictions where this isn't the case isn't something I would particularly approve of. However, this doesn't mean that I think that the 'not good' stuff should be banned; the important point to remember, as ib4e pointed out, is that the toon girls are just that; toons. They're not -actual- underage girls. For this reason, I have more trouble with adult masochistic films then this; I think it's better to avoid the real harming of adults then the fictional harming of toons. Where to draw the line even on the masochistic stuff, though, I don't know. I could say that anything recorded that's non consensual and/or without the consent that the event be recorded should be forbidden, but other then that it gets blurry.

quoted from anouther page:

Lolicon can turn someone into a pedophile, though it may be that he is already a pedophile and the lolicon is feeding his addiction.

In other words, the author of that page is engaged in full blown speculation :p. I suspect that people in the past labelled homosexual desires as addictions as well; personally I think that certain sexual desires may certainly be bad (certain sadistic types, for instance), but as a general rule I think that if no one is getting unnecessarily harmed, then I don't see what the harm is.

It may be he just likes lolicon and will never touch a real child. There is a big difference between someone who is attracted to children sexually (or other things like animals or certain sexual practices like bondage) and someone who acts upon their addiction/attraction. There are cases of people who are sexually attracted to children and have never touched a child in their lives. He may just like it and never touch a kid. But its something for him to consider and talk to a professional about. He may think he'll NEVER touch a child now, but exposure to lolicon over time may change his views as he gets older. It also depends on what kind of Lolicon, some are a little out there (like little girls with huge DD breasts) He may just need a girlfriend, and yet he may have a problem. Its hard to say

Yep, lots of speculation on the part of the author. I definitely think that one's sole source of education on sexual ethics shouldn't be informed by lolicon though; if -that- were the case, then I could agree with his assertion that "He may think he'll NEVER touch a child now, but exposure to lolicon over time may change his views as he gets older". However, if he knew anything of the realities of actually -doing- many of the things depicted in such anime, I think most if not all such people would hold back. As to the ones that don't, seeing lolicon could have ambiguous results; on the one hand, it could cause them to not do anything as they would have a sexual outlet through lolicon. On the other hand, if their minds are fantasy based to begin with, they may extend their fantasies to reality.

This can take 2 forms: the scandalous types of affairs, such as the one between Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau and the decidedly darker stuff.

I think that anyone that wants to see children hurt or molested has a very serious mental problem and throughout history they seem to never have been satisfied with sex doll children or other forms of sexual pleasures except for the real deal. I don't have anything but a gut feeling about what I say, so it is only based upon my own conclusions about what I think about them.

i saw an episode of law and order where cops arrested a guy, thinking he was a pedo, but his gf was just extrememly young looking. when the macho cop was venting his anger at how sick pedos are, the police shrink or profiler or whatever, pointed out how women of many cultures do stuff to look younger. therefore why is it strange for men to be attracted to young women?

15 year old guys are attracted to girls their own age, why would they stop being attracted to them as they grow older? i'm a bit weirded out seeing a 15 year old with a 20 year old, but juliet and romeo were 13 and 18 or something weren't they? married couples often have big age differences, why wouldn't they have loved each other when they were much younger and the difference less socially acceptable?

Amen :).

Yeah the law says otherwise.

Yeah the law says otherwise.

Unforntunately for Codanblad, using romeo and juliet as an example is not the best. Laws are based on societal norms and mores, and as cultures change, so do the laws.

Even though laws are often the codified form of ethics in societies, they sometimes do not evolve correctly or quickly enough with the current times, due to laws often having a "rigid" nature. When cultures ebb and change with the flow of time, and the laws with their rigidity do not, there is a problem.

Also, the reason why 30 year olds and 50 year olds marrying each other :D is often culturely more acceptable than a 13 and an 18 year old marrying, is because the maturity gap is much greater in the latter, even though there is a greater chronological gap in the former. That's the way it is with industrialized nations anyway.

my argument is dudes have reason to be attracted to younger women, im not talking about the legal system. i used romeo and juliet as an example because its pointing out that people can love each other regardless of age/age difference.

Below 18, females aren't usually classified as women, although I know that sometimes people do classify them that way. Anyway, I agree with the rest of what you say.

hi there...i know this post is a little late but my opinion on this is there is nothing wrong with it...it is the same thing as liking anything else...and i am not just talking about porn...people like different things...take for instance W.o.W...some people find it weird that other people like it...i dont play it myself but i have friends who do...does that mean they should be punished cause they like it and you dont...how does that seem fair...i am a lolicon lover...i also like romantic chick flicks and i would prefer love over sex...you may not like it...but there is a 10 to 1 odds of people who do like it over people who dont...my point is...i agree with codanblad...and it is fucking fake...get over it...romeo and juliet was a great example...and refering to that the famous movie lolita...middle aged dude falls in love with a 12 year old...i will say this...i love lolicon...if a young girl about 14 years old came up to you and asked if you thought she was pretty you would say yes...even though you wouldnt touch her...you still think she is pretty...we are all attracted to young people...but the reason we dont touch them or hit on them is because it is the law...if that law didnt exsist then everyone would have a young girlfriend or boyfriend...it would be concidered normal...point...we all fantasize...why punish us for that...might as well punish the whole world for the strange things they like...

Mod Hat — Necromancy

Mod Hat — Neck ... romanceeeeeeee ....

Okay, I'm going to make a rare invocation of necromancy in order to put this creepy thread to rest.

And, yes, if you really are the sort of dude who actually needs fantasies about underage people to get off, I really don't care if you think we're afraid of you. We throw people like you in prison when we decide we're too afraid of you, so don't be bothered by someone who simply won't give you the time of day.
