response was based on minimal research. Non, that isn't allowed that's not fair. Then it's not your knowledge it’s just rudimentary study habits. Correct, but with reservation… Now the new question: At the Battle __ ________ France capitulated to Britain and gained control of the vast territory of _______?
OK, but you're the one who made the rules, that were; At the Battle of _Yuranus_ France capitulated to Britain and gained control of the vast territory of _Yurbutt_?
Yes I made up those rules assuming that out of good faith people who understand that you not a book or website would answer for you. No reason to get angsty here, no one is calling your work here.
Well, considering the cheating issue. I have to admit that I could have answered the questions easily through cheating. Just take the last picture that was posted, you can see the address, which is this: http://international.loc.gov/intldl/brhtml/images/guerradoparaguai.jpg You can see that it is about a war in paraguay, the rest is simple research. the problem with the last picture is there are no identifiers, it could literally be anywhere on earth at the time of the american civil war. Even a history professor could only make vague guesses unless he'd seen the image previously. A military history expert MIGHT be able to gather something from the hints of uniforms shown in the picture but even that is a long shot. It's like taking a picture of a pine tree and asking people to name where it was taken, if you don't want people to "cheat" you have to be less vague.
i fail to see how doing research is cheating. i freely admit that i could not have answered those questions without references. now that i know that undecided wants responses without research, i won't do it.
I don't know, it seemed obvious to me he expected us not to research the answers just because doing so kind of makes a quiz pointless. It's like doing a spelling test with a dictionary on your lap, whats the point?
i thought the point was to learn some history in a fun way. now i don't know what the point is. is it show us how much we don't know, or how much undecided knows relative to us, or was it a poll to determine how much history people know? i'm very confused. but i must say i'm very impressed with what some (e.g. Spyke) could answer just off the top of their heads.
i thought the point was to learn some history in a fun way. now i don't know what the point is. The point to test your knowledge of history, if you can’t answer then take a wild guess and see if you’re right. The point is to see if you know or at least understand the spirit of the age. It is supposed to be fun to a certain extent, but no research should be done. Like buffys said: It's like doing a spelling test with a dictionary on your lap, whats the point?
Now I have a new question but I don’t want “research”: What is this room called, of which palace, where, and for extra credit the treaty that was signed there (in that room)?3
Looks like a Ballroom in Stokholm Nope... What ship is this? Although this is my thread *cough*, I would venture to say the Bismark?
i was gonna say the Titanic.. which is probably wrong. man all one has to do is follow the link to which the pic is linked and find out
