Well for one thing it would be Canaanites not Philistines. or Canaan not Philistine. land to land people to people first off the greeks were one of the first peoples that the romans encountered so it would be natural for them to refer to area using language referencing them. secondly you references to Israel's right to exist( which is equating the jewish peoples right to exist to a country) and in almost ever thread on the Israel/Palestinian conflict. you mean what they did to the jews during their last revolt. No, it was never referred to as 'the land of the philistines' in the book (Kings). Because they were on Jewish land, they were only referred to as 'Invaders'. First off; all of the Greeks were of not only different cultures...but different language dialects. Second; the Phlishtines didn't refer to themselves as Phlishtines....'Phlishitine' refers to them being sea invaders. Third; so what? Bar Kokhba was remarkably successful though in total a failure for whatever reason it was willed. It happened almost 150 years after the siege of Jerusalem as a result of Hadrian wanting to make Jerusalem a Roman Metropolis. In this sense...(the sense that they didn't pave over Jerusalem with Roman architecture)...it clearly succeeded.

and you missed the point entirely. you were using Caanan( which is the naming the land) versus Philistines( which is naming the people). And no the Caananites weren't invaders the jews were according to the holy texts. and actually etymological evidence suggests that yes in fact in may have derived from the peoples' own term for them selves. not really a refutation or very well connected to my statement but whatever.

You were using 2 different people and nation states interchangably when they were not interchangable. If you have to question the relevance there is not point in trying to prove it because you will not accept it.
