Oh Great Owl Beware! talk not of "pet" again lest thou get a punch in the beak. Is this the Goddess you speak of? http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/lifestyle/2006-08/11/xin_5608031116138982593229.jpg
Welcome to the club, we join with you to welcome you into our fold, thank thee Oen of the land for your blessing. Welcome friend Chris Cremin :C~
Everyone seems to lean toward telling people what they want to hear, but most cults that I've ever heard of have lots of strict rules. How can these two things coexist?
Simple, you must be charismatic, intelligent, and tell them what they want to hear, tell them of hope, and the weak-minded fools will follow youPlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I still haven't heard a convincing argument to target the weak-minded. What if the intention of your cult was to create an elitist community for mutual support in the future when resources become scarce and encourage individuals to strive for perfection in all aspects of their lives, and to encourage the development of literature and art. A cult doesn't have to be some wacko telling teenagers to kill themselves in order to get closer to the flying saucer following hale's(did I spell it right?) comet, does it?
Well you could write Scifi episodes for Television, the fan base would eventually reach 'Cult' status if it was any good. (This doesn't of course mean that Trekkies commit suicide to get beamed up or Star wars fans to get closer to the force) "Cults" are overrated, IMHO.
