    Define the word perfection.

    Is it a quality?
A perception of the individual? Yes of course. But what.

My idea is that perfection is having a belief in something regardless to what anyone else believes, that you fully beileve is true.

    Here is the www.dictionary.com defination:

per⋅fec⋅tion   /pərˈfɛkʃən/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [per-fek-shuhn] Show IPA
–noun 1. the state or quality of being or becoming perfect.
    2. the highest degree of proficiency, skill, or excellence, as in some art.
    3. a perfect embodiment or example of something.
    4. a quality, trait, or feature of the highest degree of excellence.
    5. the highest or most nearly perfect degree of a quality or trait.
    6. the act or fact of perfecting.

I agree with the above also.

Perfection is not an inherent quality. Things are only perfect in relation to something else, a model. In fact things aren't even discrete things except in relation to a mental model.

    Even perfection is subjective.

There is a word called perfection which does exist (fortunately or unfortunately).

I believe it has a better wording than prescribed by this:

Perfection is not an inherent quality. Things are only perfect in relation to something else, a model. In fact things aren't even discrete things except in relation to a mental model.

If you have a mental model, then you prescribe it to perfection, what occurs is nothing.

The only thing you can do with a "mental model" of perfection is to prescribe it to details of what perfection is in "the good ol' world".

    Agreements? Disagreements?

Yea, I agree. My post was an agreement with Spider's post though, the one you quoted.

Do you mean "What in my post do you agree with?" or "What about my post? Do you agree with it?" ?

SG is mistaken in that perfection already exists, right now.

You could say that everything is perfect. Or that nothing is perfect. Both would be true. You could have a perfect diamond, but you would first have to define it as an arrangement of carbon atoms and nothing else with such and such a structure.

Unless it's a part of this world (material), then it's just an abstraction.

Perfection is devoid of any flaws perceived or unperceived. Perfection is something that takes years and years to test for. The things that come to mind with the word are the Universe and some select musical masterpieces. There are many things that are headed towards perfection.

It is a quality. It does not necessarily mean good, evil, ugly, or beautiful. Something came be near perfectly evil or ugly.

I would normally say perfection... being "devoid of any flaws percieved or unpercieved" is not proper as being unpercieved is exactly that we are not capable of understanding what is percieveddurring the time we expect an opinon ot be peracet by our standard.

One could view the loop as perfect.

The loop is a failure to preform in the system.

A perfect samurai sword has flaws, a perfect painting, a perfect blues song. The Japanese even have a word for this- wabi-sabi.
