Empathy

Trump has been betraying his country and violating his oath of office for personal gain - committing treason for money, essentially - and using his office as President to do it; meanwhile, the investigation has been sober and evidence based - the circus stuff has been coming from his side.
The Republicans said much the same of Clinton during his Presidency. Congratulations, you just crossed party lines.

I don't think that DJT's supporters love him so much as they distrust the Democrats.
I think they worship him. He has a strong base. I don't see anyone attracting that much loyalty within the Democratic Party. The only thing they have that holds them together is their hatred of Trump.

And the New Deal agenda - the policies and governance of a liberal democracy, as favored by more than 2/3 of the American citizenry.
I don't see anyone attracting that much loyalty within the Democratic Party.
Of course not. The Democratic Party largely comprises adults who wish to govern themselves. Personal loyalty like that is for organized criminal gangs.

The Republicans said false things. I am saying true things.
There is a difference between true claims and false claims, out in the real world. They are not interchangeable, or equivalent.

And that difference is Republican, by and large: the Republicans inhabit a fantasy world, a world of falsehood,
in which even obvious idiocy is believed and repeated as long as it is delivered to them by the correct sources,
in which reversals of opinion and contradictory assertions are accepted without question, routinely.

Quite possibly the male American Republican voter is the most childish, gullible, politically incompetent adult man on this planet. They panic, they flail and rant, they believe stuff a twelve year old could see through - and look at who they voted into the Presidency.
I don't think that DJT's supporters love him so much as they distrust the Democrats.
They love him, just as they loved W, and Reagan.

After the disaster (whatever it is) their handlers will rewrite all this, of course. When was the last time you heard a Republican media figure praise W as they did in 2003/2004? That's all shoved into the amnesia closet now - the entire 8 years of W is just kind of skipped over, in Republican rhetoric. So will Trump be. Ten years from now they will be pretending what we all have seen these past couple of years never happened, or somehow involved "both sides" of some kind (They are already trying to sell the idea that nobody really wanted to vote for Trump, they just had no good choice).

But there will be another W, another Reagan, another Trump, as long as there is a Republican Party as we see it now. The Republican Party is a deliberately and purposefully organized shitpile of bigots, fundies, and imbeciles - it didn't get that way suddenly in the summer of 2016, and it won't magically become something else in 2020, or 2024, or any time in the near future.

Yep, the deplorables.

It’s not surprising that a Republican would hate Hillary, but it is surprising that many of them love Trump. What do they love?

What do they love?

his lack of political correctness by reinforcing old school yard stereo types
punching people
mocking
etc etc
they feel liberated from their own self-imposed conservatism by proxy
he is the American poster child of anti-political correctness

Yea, that makes sense. Many voters identify with a bully, it would seem.

Yep, the deplorables.
Simple, ugly, fact.
Why pretend otherwise?
It's not like you guys have any pretensions to being decent human beings, after all. You're proud of your behavior.
So own it.

Careful. "Political correctness" is one of their effective propaganda memes - it's how they project their censorship and control of speech unto other people.

Look at the amount of effort and attention the Republican media wing puts into vocabulary, into mass repetition of key terms and exclusion of others, into making sure the news and other mass media speaks in certain ways and not others. Getting the terminology of public discourse "politically correct" is a major, well-financed, very important aspect of their political efforts.

Frank Luntz is one of the brains behind "political speech"
Use of language
Luntz frequently tests word and phrase choices using focus groups and interviews. His stated purpose in this is the goal of causing audiences to react based on emotion. "80 percent of our life is emotion, and only 20 percent is intellect. I am much more interested in how you feel than how you think. ... If I respond to you quietly, the viewer at home is going to have a different reaction than if I respond to you with emotion and with passion and I wave my arms around. Somebody like this is an intellectual; somebody like this is a freak."
In an article in The New Yorker Luntz is quoted as saying,
"The way my words are created is by taking the words of others.... I've moderated an average of a hundred plus focus groups a year over five years... I show them language that I've created. Then I leave a line for them to create language for me."
