    Whats the best bit of software for transfering files to my DVD? I already have all I need to be an Uber pirate (supplied by liteon funnily enough) but all I really wanna do is drag and drop a few files for backup. I'm sure I could find something 'out there' but I'd prefer a personal reccomendation.
    Perhaps I'm just stupid and I can do it with the kit I have already, either way I'd appreciate your advice.

    Over to you boys.

    I'll keep supporting roxio burning software till I die. Cause it doesn't overload you with options, and gets the job done.

    Latest version supports DVD burning. yeey!

    Go Roxio!

    XP should support it but if you're having problems with it, then Pentax is right, software such as nero should do the trick.

    And LMAO at 'uber pirate'.. ahhh classic

    Ok I got a liteon DVDRW LDW 8115 8x burner and Xp pro all latest drivers/updates (I think

    )
    I can drag and drop but when I try to burn to DVD windows asks me to insert a usable CDR.

    Microsoft admit
    "All Windows versions up to and including Windows XP and Windows Server™ 2003 support DVD video playback and DVD-ROM as an optical media storage device with these components: DVD class driver, WDM Stream class driver, UDF read-only file system, copy protection and regionalization, Microsoft DirectShow® navigator/splitter, proxy filters, video mixer, video renderer, and audio renderer. DVD writing capability can also be supported through the addition of third-party software"

    http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/hwdev/tech/stream/DVD/DVDRW_support.mspx

    It's a well known problem, microsoft suggest.

    Full article here

    But it don't seem to work for me

    Hence
    "third-party software"
