    Hi;

    Drosophila melanogaster

    I'm a student at molecular biology and genetic 2.Class. In genetic labratory I crossed Scarlet Female and White male.

    As I search and find it ; There two gens at Drosophila :
    bw+ for brown , st+ for red.

    bw+st+ is wild type.

    I crossed Scarlet And white so my genotips are ;

    Female bwbw st+st+ Male bwbw stst

    But my f1 is with brown eyes, and scarlet eyes, I have no idea about how to explain it .

    Would some one help me please? What is the molecular pathway of drosophila's eyes when we cross white and scarlet

    my F1: Brown and Scarlet
    my f2 : White Brown Scarlet And Red

    I don't do a lot of ordinals and a lot of my background is bloody outbreds. Can you tell me whether the source scarlet-eye and white-eye strains are reckoned to be 'fixed' for eye colour genotype? (That is, homozygous within each line.)

    Hi
    for Scarlet : BwBw St+St+
    For Brown Bw+Bw+ StSt
    For White : Both gens knock-out : BwBw StSt

    Bw gens are on the 3rd chromosome, St gens are on the 2nd.

    My Scarlet Female was virgin and homozygous, my white male was Homosygous too.
