True, Dobermans are more the classic guard dog. There is something about em....if you can imagine a dog in military uniform, it would be a Dobie.

Akita's are hyper active, bipolar schizophrenics.

They are too servile, but untrustworthy at the same time.

I see what you mean Mike, Dobes do actually look like short tailed and slighter Alsatians. Same stance with the hind legs bent and their upper half bolt upright, too.

Is there a reason why Dobes and GSDs stand like that?

Hmmm...overly servile dogs can get annoying, but why untrustworthy? They're usually very loyal.

They're loyal when you deserve it, anyway. I had a funny moment with a GSD while having an argument with his owner. I was out with my mum and brother and this old woman threw an almighty fit because we took a handful of frogspawn for my brother to cultivate. Said we were raping the environment and what not...and while I was getting in her face and telling her she was full of crap, this massive black male GSD lopes up to me in that calm dignified Alsatian manner, sniffs and my hand and starts licking me as if to say 'Don't mind her, she's full of shit.'

If you treat them well they're very loyal.

I bet if you come visit me aged 40 or so, you will see a big old GSD and no kids.
