Does the US sell nuclear bombs?

This is a short simple question. Two of my friends think that the US does (and at the same time think it was the US who sold nukes to Israel, which shows how clueless they are), I think that the US doesn't.

So, has the US ever sold actual nuclear warheads? I know we sell the trident missiles without their warheads, but have we ever sold nuclear weapons?

Also, if you could find actual proof that we don't, ie. Some sort of document forbidding the sale of nuclear warheads? I know the non proliferation treaty says we can't. But I mean something closer to home, like a physical law.

I'd like to have some sort of evidence to show my two friends that they are mistaken.

Israel made their own. The US doesn't sell nukes that I'm aware of as yet.

Israel is widely believed to be the sixth country in the world to have developed nuclear weapons and to be one of four nuclear-armed countries not recognized as a Nuclear Weapons State by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the others being India, Pakistan and North Korea. Former International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Mohamed ElBaradei regarded Israel as a state possessing nuclear weapons, but Israel maintains a policy known as "nuclear ambiguity" (also known as "nuclear opacity"). Israel has never officially admitted to having nuclear weapons, instead repeating over the years that it would not be the first country to "introduce" nuclear weapons to the Middle East, leaving ambiguous whether it means it will not create, will not disclose, or will not make first use of the weapons. Israel has refused to sign the NPT despite international pressure to do so, and has stated that signing the NPT would be contrary to its national security interests.

    Not as such, no.

We do station nuclear warheads of our own in bases in foreign countries, and sign agreements with them wherein we'll turn those weapons over to the host country for their defense, in the case of invasion. This is the case with the Netherlands and a few other such places, AFAIK.

We also sell various technologies that are key to the development of nuclear weapons. Such as nuclear reactors, missiles, etc.

Proof of an existential negative? Can't be done.

The NPT is a "physical" law.

I doubt it's an issue of evidence, frankly.

We'll have to wait on wikileaks to know for sure. But yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if they did.

On US transfer of nuclear technology to Israel, its probably related to stuff like this:

I assume that for Israel to sell the technology to China they would first need to obtain it from the US.

There are also rumors of India getting the benefit under the table

Bush sells nukes to India who then sells nukes to Iran

No idea how much is truth and how much truthiness

Why? Israel is a major developer and exporter of its own military technologies. Including to the US. They import big stuff that a small country like that can't really sustain an industry for (fighter planes, say), but the smaller, more technological stuff, tends to be indigenous. That's why they've been the #2 arms supplier to India since forever - you guys get the big iron (tanks, planes, ships) from Russia, and the technological stuff (missile guidance, command and control, etc.) from Israel.

Well of course - the entire premise of the entente with India is to legitimize your nuclear arms industry.

Yeah but how much of it is independent? The US was "upset" about its nuclear tech being sold by Israel to China. How did Israel obtain this tech?

Its the rumor and some rumors are true . I wonder were your local C.I.A. agent is hanging out today . We hear of things after the fact . We live in the past . The past is catching up quick these days . How did Israel get the bomb ? How did India get the bomb ? Setting up bases with the bomb and then turning it over to the ruling governments sound a lot like governmental proof of where to get the bomb. What do we get ? Lots of bombs . I got bombs . I hunt deer and antelope around the silos at the base of the Crazy Mountains . Guys in black suits patrol the silos regularly . I hate it when the antelope run into the silo area for if I shoot one the guys in black suits will get Me if I try to retrieve the animal . Got to sneak the animal out between there brake times. Highly illegal and I don't like to brake the laws of the land yet I also don't like leaving an animal for the wolves, magpies, eagles, insects and coyotes. I should be the one who gets to eat it if I kill it

Israel did a lot for the advancement of automatic weaponry. I wouldn't mind having one of those babys my self . You know the ones with the short stocks that shoot boat loads of bullets with one little pull of the trigger.

A lot - it's something of a point of pride for Israelis. Not to mention, a major source of export revenue.

Nothing in your link there supports that. There is no mention of "nuclear" technology of any kind - the systems in question are avionics for fighter planes - nor of any US technology of any kind being sold to China.

The issue is that Israel and the USA have an understanding wherein Israel won't sell arms to anyone without US approval. Meaning, Israeli-produced arms, not resale of US arms. The issue is that Israel sold China an upgrade to a previously-approved system, and there is some dispute as to whether that violates this understanding.

Again, your link raised no issue of Israel selling anyone American, or nuclear, technology.

They didn't "obtain" it; they developed it. They've had a fairly impressive arms technology industry there for many decades, and are a major exporter of such. Including to the USA.

    Hardly an "advancement".
And the open-bolt blowback system is really only applicable to SMGs - which aren't a greatly-used weapon anyway.

The massive popularity of the Uzi says otherwise. It was easily the most popular submachine gun ever produced from its inception up until the 1980's or so. And still holds impressive market share despite the rise of certain popular competitors since.

Yes I'm sure the US has nothing to do with arming Israel.

My 45 gets a good work out though . It has a bit of a bite in the way of recoil. A mans pistol . Don't hurt Me you girls out there that shoot 45s . I know you can too

You guys are to hilarious . That reminds me of a time me and my Family were driving to Sacramento from Missoula and we hit Idaho around Riggens on the snake river and this guy pulling a trailer passed us and then slowed down . We would pass him and he would end up passing us again then slow down . I finally out ran him at about Wiser Idaho ( I think I saw him get pulled over by a cop for speeding ) I named him Trailer-Boy and we talk about him still to this day and laugh . I like guns and my Bible

Trolling is sorta childish, so I don't see how one can be a troll-man. I wouldn't know though. I don't troll.

What I was saying was that i doubt that the US didn't help Israel at all or didn't know that they were/are producing nuclear weapons.
