I'm doing this as courtesy to anyone else out there who has one of these laptops and is considering upgrading it. It should soon pop up on Google if anyone does a search about upgrading one of these laptops.

It's my cousin's computer, and it's now about six years old. It came with an Intel T5450 CPU (1.67 GHz), and after careful research, I was pretty confident that it would work with a T7700 (2.4 GHz).
I bought a T7700 for $15.00 on Ebay, and performed the swap last night - the operation was a success! The Windows Experience Index CPU score improved from 4.7 to 5.9. In preparation for the swap, I had updated it to the latest BIOS available. My cousin's laptop is now less obsolete, and all around a bit faster.

As you can see, it had to be pretty nearly completely disassembled to get to the CPU.
