ToR there may not be any connection what so ever, but objectively speaking the brightest people I know seem to be on the thin side while fat people seem to be inbred hicks with six kids trailing from their buggy.

Our specie, and all other previous Human specie aren't naturaly fat.

 

When commenting on spelling one should be diligent that people suffer from Dyslexia, lest you be ignorant.

 

This is the weirdest thread ever I have seen, it makes no sense at all. Fat people are stupid? Fat people are smart? You're kidding right? The largest hippos I've seen are making alot more then the smart thin ones. Same is true in reverse, there is no correlation

 

Sderenzi its easy to see the correlation. Look at Milk for example, the up take of skimmed or semi-skimmed milk was led by the educated. Healthy eating esp these days takes a level of knowledge. Without this knowledge you will tend to eat what you like rather than what you should. Ok some fat people are smart but in general fatter people will have lower IQ's.

 

and people who smoke? VERY unintelligent yes?

Actually: Fat people could be -smarter- owing to the likelyhood that they have consumed more protein and fats, both of which are necessary for brain development.

David Hume, Gottfried Leibniz, Socrates, Churchill, Benjamin Franklin...All pretty heavy guys, all powerhouses of the West.

2. For the millions of fat people picking even a few 100s smart fat is really irrelevant.

Making lots of dough doesn't necesserily mean smartness. Also, we are talking about NUMBERS like millions and not a few people whom you know...

 

We are getting back again to the addiction/psychological eating topic, but fat people also live shorter. So how smart it is to knowingly shorten your life because of overindulgence???

Not surprising. IQ correlates with a lot of things. And without exception, high IQ means more of the better things in life. More intelligence, better health, more education, higher productivity, higher socioeconomic status, smarter children, etc... The higher the IQ, the better.

What people seem to be missing is that it may only be a small correlation (0.2 IQ points say), but a correlation none the less.
