    i don't think i could make this point any clearer.

    It's doable

    I'm not the only one that does it.

    But antiflag is right, arguing about this is useless because:

    1. I did it, period.
    2. When windows 7 SP1 comes out it doesn't even matter anymore... because you will be able to run DX10 and eventually DX11!

    I don't think you understand the point, why would you recommend someone spend extra money on a product for 6 months, that they're hardly going to get anything extra out of in that time? As opposed to saving money and using that to help the purchase of a better product when released in 6 months time? That's why I said even the 32 bit xp could be adequate for 6 months, and everything saved could be used to purchase windows 7.:shrug:

    You can run Windows 7 now for free. Many people are doing so (see my earlier link), and are happy with the results. If for some reason it didn't work for him, he could then try the alternative of his choice.

    I'd advise against running anything that's still in a testing phase, but he could try it. :shrug:
