I was reading about mass extinctions, it was mentioned that there were about 5 of them during the last 500 million years or so (even since the Cambrian Explosion - formation of complex life). One was caused by Gamma Ray burst, and the rest were caused by combination of comet strike, volcanoes & other causes. My question here is, does comet strike trigger more volcano activities ?
