I think you are referring to this:

    http://blog.newenergytimes.com/2011...mising-energy-alternative-and-its-not-fusion/

You have a point so I Googled this:

    http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp...gc.r_pw.&fp=71c6c4af87148765&biw=1259&bih=579

I haven't read through the links but at first glance there possibly is some better info. Do you see anything interesting?

I went through the links and most of them were just copies of the same quotes over and over. And no, I honestly didn't see *anything* important or interesting enough to make me even raise an eyebrow.

As far as NASA goes, I figure everyone is aware that those guys have spent millions in the past 20 years chasing all sorts of phantoms - things like various forms of FTL drives and generating man-made black holes. So their interest in this doesn't impress me in the least.

And so far, I cannot find ANYTHING that says the US DOD has shown any interest.

One other thing that bugs me: This appears to be a fairly simple device to construct, so why is it taking this guy the better part of SIX MONTHS to build his little multi-unit demonstration model?? That alone appears like a stall tactic just to generate more investment money. Makes me very, very suspicious of smoke and mirrors... and outright fraud.

    I've only see this:

    http://pesn.com/2011/05/17/9501827_Ampenergo_Amps_Up_Rossis_Energy_Catalyzer_in_America/

Ampenergo Amps Up Rossi's Energy Catalyzer in America
An American company named Ampenergo has made a deal with Andrea Rossi to market his Energy Catalyzer (E-Cat) technology in the Americas. Ampenergo, which has ties to people in the U.S. DOD and DOE, will share royalties with Rossi, and are in the middle of talks with multiple potential customers.

Ampenergo was founded by Karl Norwood, Richard Noceti, Robert Gentile and Craig Cassarino. It is important to note that Robert Gentile was the Assistant Secretary of Energy for Fossil Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) during the early 1990's. This helps confirm Rossi's claim that tests of the E-Cat have been observed by the U.S. Department of Defense and the DOE. It is very likely that at least certain individuals in the DOD and DOE are aware and interested in the Energy Catalyzer. However, their silence is deafening.

It is unknown if any military or secret government research is taking place, but there are unsubstantiated rumors floating around the internet of the US Navy using a nickel-hydrogen cold fusion reactor to power a submarine. Although the rumor is not likely to be true, if they have known about the technology for a couple of years, it is possible testing is taking place. Trillions of dollars go missing from the DOD budget on a regular basis, and the money is obviously being spent on something.
My take on that is they are still trying to master the self-destuct technology to protect the secret, lol.

Once again, thanks for your effort, I *do* appreciate it.

Yeah, not only "deafening silence" but the fact that that an EX-DOD person from the 1990s is involved adds not one shred of credibility to the idea that the DOD is involved in ANY way. We could use that gambit to link HUNDREDS of government ex-employees to practically anything we wanted.

"Not likely to be true???" That's got to be the understatement of the year!!!!! If there were even the slightest bit of truth to it, the implications would be staggering!!!! And I would assume that most people realize that the vast majority of those "trillions of dollars" (yet another overstatement) go to Groom Lake and defense contractors like Grumman and Boeing.
Yeah, and maybe that's all because they don't want anyone to discover the Energizer Bunny inside.

Contrary to the statements that Rossi isn't looking for funds, consider this - taken directly from his shell company:

" Fast Facts about Ampenergo, US Company Will Partner With Andrea Rossi to Commercialize E-Cat Technology

    * Featured

    by admin

Here are some key facts about Ampenergo , the private US company that has signed an agreement with Andrea Rossi’s Leonardo Corporation to commercialize his E-Cat technology, gathered from the recent NyTeknik interview with Craig Cassarino, Vice President of Ampenergo.

    * Ampenergo will be selling E-Cat licenses and products, and in return will receive a portion of the royalties therefrom.
    * Ampenergo has paid Leonardo Corporation an undisclosed amount of money as part of their agreement with Rossi.
    * Ampenergo is searching for new funding sources and is in conversation “with several large companies, some investment companies, because it’s not just a technology, we’re creating an industry here … There’s never enough money to make everything happen.”
    * The first products are projected to be available by late fall of this year or early next year. The first product is likely to be a 1 MW plant for heating or power generation.
    * Initially, the first E-Cat products would be manufactured by Andrea Rossi’s Leonardo Corporation.
    * Ampenergo will not initially be marketing home heating installations
    * Ampenergo will be seeking to partner with the “right” companies as they attempt to combine technologies to find the best ways to proliferate E-Cat technology.

So he clearly IS looking for money from "several large companies and some investment companies.

That makes the previous statement an outright LIE !!

If you go by that website there isn't much there, but from Rossi's standpoint, his company, manufacturing, and his distributors have moved to production while in the US production and marketing are behind in the time line.

You can look skeptically at Ampenergo but every marketing and distribution company has a start up. Manufacturing, even of device that runs of Energizer Bunnies has to have property, plant and equipment and that requires investors.

I remain hopeful. Would I invest right now? I'd wait and see the first units go into service.

...meaning that the "company" is just a shell. Anyone (including Rossi) can buy a domain name for a few dollars.

How do you know that Rossi is not the person who bought the Ampenergo website?

I understand what you're saying - but supposedly this Ampenergo has already been around a few years. What is it that they have supposed to have done all this time??? Raises a fishy smell for me...

Incidently, I just had another VERY amusing thought. If this E-cat thing works out, the obvious benefits aren't all we'd get out of it. It would TOTALLY knock the wind out of all those crank conspiracy theorists that always claim that Big Oil (and the whole energy "empire") is what keeps every wonderful free-energy device off the market !!!

Why think that. The names of the principals of Ampenergo are public record. Ampenergo was founded by Karl Norwood, Richard Noceti, Robert Gentile and Craig Cassarino. Of course anyone of them could set up a website but I would like to see the emails they have received and know about how they deal with responses.

Shall we send them an email? I would expect a response of some kind from them. What would you write to try to see what they have in place at their end?

Lol, that it would, but since you mention that, how do we know that there isn't some supression going on in the background? Maybe when the thing comes out it will run on gasoline.

    Perhaps it will, heh-heh!

I base my sense of "no suppression" on scientific facts. Like the claims of 1,000 MPG carburetors and similar nonsense that's been claimed for the past 100 years.

Oh... and all the claims that people actually developed those inventions and then mysteriously vanished. (Went into hiding to avoid ridicule is much more likely.) Heh-heh. <big grin>

Look at their website, there is no information.

You got this from the Rossi website. There is nothing of this sort on the Ampenergo website.

How do you know that the email is not routed to Rossi?

Being skeptical is fine and I am good at it too. We both probably hold about the right amount of skepticism, we are just skeptical about different things. I'm optimistically skeptical about E-Cat because of all the attention generated by the demonstrations. I'm not putting words in your mouth but you might be more of a convinced skeptic. Do you want to elaborate on the particulars of your skepticism, the "whys"? Please do.
