I got this in my e-mail today. I don't know how much truth there is to some of it but I got a chuckle none the less.

    Bullshit.
Accounts that departing Clinton administration officials destroyed office equipment and committed other acts of vandalism in the White House during the presidential transition were significantly overblown, a manager at the General Accounting Office, the investigative arm of Congress, said yesterday.

The General Services Administration found nothing unusual about the condition of White House offices after Clinton officials left, and President Bush's staff said it had no records that indicated damage or subsequent repair work, the accounting office manager said.

More bullshit. The figure does not take into account security costs, which the Obama number does. Obama actually spent less per person.

So the bottom line for Bush's 2005 inauguration, including the cost of security? That's right, $157 million.

Yesterday: incoming administration uses its position to launch PR campaign against outgoing administrations image and actions, including false accusations of vandalism, pretensions of disgrace, and other broadcast image attacks, which are still being repeated eight years later as chaff.

Today: Incoming administration diplomatically overlooks actual disgrace and real circumstances of shredded documents etc, treats outgoing administration with unearned respect.

Yesterday: incoming administration dismisses all attempts to educated and inform incoming officials, and catch them up on things like intelligence estimates of terrorist attacks and progress in negotiations with enemies.

    Today: we'll see.

Wouldn't matter were it all true, since Bush wrecked the country. I'd rather have a horse in the henhouse than a wolf in sheep's clothing.

But it's worth pointing out that none of it is.

These people are living in a fantasy world, created by repetition and founded on deliberate lies.

Most of it is true with some exaggerations.

It's the president's prerogative to pardon anyone he wishes. We all know Bush has no mercy or compassion to begin with.

That Clinton organized a farewell speech to conflict with W's inauguration? I think Clinton attended W's inauguration.
    They're called "lies", not "exaggerations".

The only one even marginally connected with reality is the pardon count, and that one overlooks the destroyed documents and last minute executive orders, as well as the uses W has for keeping the threat of prosecution hanging over the heads of his associates.

The main point being, of course, that this kind of low-class lying behavior is exactly how W rode into office eight years ago - many of the lies in this email date to similar public accusations made then by the kind of people W surrounded himself with,

the very opposite of a "class act".

    No, they didn't.

That lie dates to W's first week in office, and it illustrates W&Co's style quite well. His posse spent the next eight years spinning tales like that. You can draw a straight line from that kind of crap to the hoopla over Obama's refusal to salute the flag, and the tale that he was sworn into the Senate on a Quran.
