You know what I love? The chicks who go shopping at Forever 21 (very girly, kinda trampy clothing store) wearing the hajib. They'll be covered head to toe but wearing pants that basically outline their asscrack. Whoever coined the phrase "modest is hottest" obviously never saw a trendy Muslim girl.
Yeah many of the nurses I knew wore hot pants and tank tops under their abayas. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
The problem is that most Western people do not even consider the view of the lady who decides to wear a garment (be it headscarf, parda, hijab, or burqa). Without even asking, they assume that a women in the Middle East are not intelligent to enough to know what is good for them. This is a arrogance which is Western people have toward many non-Western people, especially Muslims. Did anyone ever consider that they wear these clothes as part of their culture and identity? That they wear these clothes out of their free will? Does the act of simply wearing less, more revealing clothes make one more free? Isn't intelligence and education the main vehicle of freedom, and in this case, I would like to inform you that many Muslim women in the world are highly educated (I know this from my own family) and so I would like for the posters on this forum to please leave their stereotypes and hatred out of this discussion.
If you put a gun to someone back, they will do anything out of their own 'free will'. Women in muslim countries wear burkas BECAUSE they are smart enough to know what is good for them.
I think I'd wear a fucking walleye on my head if people were going to rape me if I didn't. Yeah, free will.
It's useless arguing with you people. You asked for the reason, so I gave it. Yet you want to continue to spread your hate propaganda.
