How could you have 6 times a superlative? Wouldn't there only be one best?

And America has some truly excellent public universities, especially in Cali.

No, you can have "the best" being any selection off the top of a list.

Oniw17 claimed that the USA has "all of the best colleges" which would imply (and he hasn't denied it) that he was under the impression that every single one of the world's best universities were in the USA, which I simply set out to educate him on.

Oxford and Cambridge are as good as any uni in the US. Maybe even as good as any two universities.

    Oxford is underfunded and overrated.

Who can resist a thread that includes the word, breast. Sadly, there were no pictures.

To get back to the original thread:-
If the mother has a healthy diet then breast fed babies are less likely to get allergies in later life, they aquire the mother's antibodies in the breast milk, they are less likely to be overweight because there is not so much "fat" in breast milk as opposed to whey or curd based formula and because of the way the breast milk is formulated in the body, more nutrition is absorbed into the baby with less waste.

Newborn's can't focus well and the distance from mother's face to the baby, once it's positioned at the breast, is the ideal focal point for the baby view of its mother which means it associates its mother with warmth, security and food which strengthens the mother/baby bond. Also babies have this lovely almondy smell (probably a form of pheromone) which is more apparent when you breast feed and has a sort of soothing effect on mum, which again reinforces this bonding.

I think I read somewhere that suckling at the breast also help strengthen the bones/ muscles of the face which in turn help dental growth. It's something to do with the technique the baby uses whilst suckling at the breast as opposed to just sucking on a rubber teat.

    The mother also benefits because
    a. When the baby suckles for the first time the muscles surrounding the womb contract enabling the womb to get back into shape quicker, thus enabling the stomach muscles to "pull" everything back into shape. When you breast feed you need more calories in order to produce more milk, so as long as you don't pig out on food while breast feeding all the weight you put on whilst pregant (which is probably the reason for the weight gain anyway)
you lose, very quickly, so you slim down a lot faster than mum who only uses formula.

And, at 2 o'clock in the morning it's a helluva lot easier to stick junior on a tit than stagger downstairs to heat up a bottle with a screaming baby slung over your shoulder!
