"Another Heaven", "H", and "Audition" are amongst the Orient's finest horror flicks.

    Oh yes, Audition.

I love how it starts out so boring, and then suddenly there is this massive transition to 'Holy shit' mode. The bit with the piano wire churned my stomach...

Yes, I would have to say Audition is one of the nastiest films I have ever seen....best horror film every made, though? Not sure. The Thing (remake, wow, a remake that was good) was also convincing enough that it is unpleasant to watch....but best horror? Hmmmm. Tough question.

The Ring. That kind of quiet, surreal imagery is very disturbing.
Also, the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Don't know about best, but I like the Alien series, Resident Evil Series (the second one better than the first), Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Exorcist, Silence of the Lambs (is that horror?), Sleepy Hollow, Blade, The Ring (the original one, not the remake).

Exorcist. At my age i saw a lot of other horror films, as Texas Chain Saw Massacre. that where good, but Exorcist was the best.

Audition, i really dont know why, but i dont know that one. I would like to ear about it. Ch.k.

no its not a horror, i as just telling what scared me the most in a film and that was the last 15 or so minutes when they are in the pitch black basement

and krakatoa, if you are going to watch audition make sure that a.) you are not of a nervous disposition and b.) neither is anyone else watching it as you seriously will have a few faintings on your hands

I have seen live dismembered people, victims of horrendous accidents in the hospitals I've worked in (even victims of beheadings back in KSA ugh). Takes a lot to faze me.

The scariest movie I have ever seen is 'An Inconvenient Truth', by Al Gore.

    Plus, it's real.
