:roflmao: well why do you push for yours to become mainstream? There is however the (philosophical) question whether ego ever has a state of pure existence or if by definition the word "ego" is always in all time, places and circumstances synonymous with "contaminated state of being"? hmmm .... could be ego speaking here Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
You have it all wrong. I'm pushing for your's to never become mainstream. Heheheh! Are you? Contaminated, that is. Judging by negative religious attitudes towards human existence then I guess we're all contaminated. But I really don't care what my state of being is to a religious philosopher, you're talking to yourself there.
so how do you propose to do that without pushing your ideas as mainstream? are you? from your suggested conclusion "statement from ego = statement of error" it certainly seems that everyone is, yourself included. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
presenting your ideas as mainstream could definitely help your cause Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! god has an ego you have an ego I have an ego an ant has an ego etc etc .... all of which are in an irreversible state of error (according to you anyway)
No, I need a prop. Shave my head or wear something odd, a symbol or logo. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! And a soul too I gather. Whew! Back on topic.
I'm not sure how that will assist you yes, There is however the (philosophical) question whether ego ever has a state of pure existence or if by definition the word "ego" is always in all time, places and circumstances synonymous with "contaminated state of being"?
You did say: Isn't He pure in your mind. Isn't He always here, there and everywhere in your mind. Isn't He timeless in your mind.
yes, it certainly runs contrary to your (philosophical) suggestion "statement from ego = statement of error" doesn't it? Maybe its more correct to call it a suggestion awaiting a philosophical/rational explanation ....
The only thing I intimated about a strong ego was that once your mind is made up and your convinced then you can't be open to criticism, and no amount of reason or logic will stand in the way of your convictions. You will always be right even if you're wrong.
and atheism has the scope for objective self analysis? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
An atheist is equipped with an advanced version of the super-ego, thanks to evolution. Unfortunately all theists are blessed with a primitive human prototype. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Sorry about your luck.
and lemme guess ... you're not open to criticism of this conviction of yours ... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
that's your objective self analysis speaking I take it .... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Whatever. I feel pretty good actually. Without sounding selfish I would say my ego is finely balanced. I can seperate the real from the unreal & the probable from the improbable. I'm not living in a dream state, I deal with reality, call it the scientific state. It's a new age. Too bad you can't get there, it would be fun.
so in otherwords you have confidence that you are capably objective ... and that confidence is based on ..... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I think your trying to say I'm incapable of being subjective, something which you live by. What am I to say, that you're capably subjective? Subjectivity I find intriguing if only for finding out why I do.
