An Infallible Interrogation Technology

There is a technology, the exact specifications of which are known, that
would be extremely effective in interrogations of known and suspected
criminals and terrorists, such that it would prevent a very large portion of
crimes and terrorist acts and would clear many innocent people of crimes
that they have not done. The technology is conscience-enhancing
malice-weakening neuroactive chemical mixture, which is based upon new
knowledge of criminal and terrorist neuropsychology. Unfortunately though,
there are several large obstacles to producing and implementing the
technology, so it needs a base of public support, especially among the
people in the relevant professions, in order to do so. The petition to

One of the obstacles mentioned in the petition is the fact that there are a
large number of secretive criminals in society that are likely to attempt to
suppress the implementation of this technology. That fact is demonstrated
clearly by the 8th signiture (as of the current time; the signiture might be
removed in the future) in which a person criminalistically signed the petition
in a disruptive, harrassing manner for the purpose of criminal intimidation via
deprecation (quote 'this idea is retarded'). Intimidating deprecation and
intentional misinterpretation are the 2 most common criminalistic
truth-obscuring verbal tactics of people of malicious criminal temperament.

I took time to read it and... Sorry : I lost time to read it and I will never sign for that! They want to prevent crims by using a drug on those who "could" do something wrong! Lets be clear : if someone came to me and said me that I'm maybe a criminal and that I have to take this drug to prove that I'm not, the result would show him that he was right (and he will think about it again when he will be looking for his teeth on the ground).

That's worse! They would not need to KNOW that you will be a criminal, they will just have to THINK that you CAN be a criminal. This drug will also show as criminal those who COULD be criminals (let me guess... 90% of the population?) because it's not perfect. What a powerfull way to control people!

 

Sounds like I need to keep an eye on some people I know.

This reminds me of a question i was asked recently. do you want freedom from... or freedom to...

at the moment we have freedom to. i mean i can go out and i can do pretty much whatever the hell i want, but obviously the fuzz wouldn't be too happy. but in a freedom from universe, it would be like Big Brother in control. If this drug ever makes it into use our freedom will just drop, and it will totally suck.
