I tried edonkey2000 this week, my download speed averages at about 3k/s and I'm on ADSL. I went back to Kazaa.

It can be, but I think overnet was better. E-donkey doesn't use peer-to-peer, it uses hub servers which can be a pain in the ascii to log onto. Overnet contained a peer-to-peer method based on E-donkey's system.

The main advantage over Kazaa that E-donkey has, is the ability from a few websites to pickup the correct links for finding the file.
And there is a visual representation of how files are Compiled at your system from the bits of files that are "Okay".

(Sometimes it's possible to suffer from CRC errors on Kazaa, mostly down to a system being used while a download is occuring and the RAM of the system being "Mismanaged")

Many of the DC++ hubs have scripts written to kick e-donkey users. The reason is the DC++ is not very compatable with e-donkey. You may d/l from someone but they will not be able to d/l from the e-donkey client. That breaks the idea of sharing files so most hubs don't want that client in DC network.

  10. i use kazaa lite for my programs (only full versions can satisfy my needs) for some reason i have ($3,000) Maya 4.5 just chillin on my computer, i guess it's just good to know i have it.

WinMX for my music, but everyone is all jittery about dc++ so i'll try it

My uncles got the $8000 Maya animator pirated... I have been asking for 4 months now for a copy he should send it when he gets back from where ever he is (India I think)

dc++ is not that great: You have to connect to servers and find stuff and deal with server rules and restrictions and bull shit, get kick, move or band for not having enough GB of crap or not enough slots open or stealthed ping...

Only if I can't find anything on Kazaa some whino on the only "+30GB sharing min" dc++ server will have it.

I've been using k-lite since I moved in here, but it doesn't work on share reactor.

I've never even heard of overnet.
Will that download the edonley files from sharereactor.com?

I'm going to try out DC++.
Soes it come with spyware and pop ups?
Is there a site where I can get verified media and software with DC++?

(Hey look. 800 posts. I never thought I would make it this far. Thanks to all those who have suppoted me on this long and arduous journey!)

Ooooh...I have that. My friend downloaded it, sent a copy to me. But I've actually never installed it...he says it's very hard to learn to use.
Also, be noted - I read that Maya comes with spyware from Brilliant Digital Entertainment (the same spyware that comes with regular KaZaA Lite!) However you can get rid of brilliant digital entertainment manually or use a program like ad-aware 6 (don't download the personal version, download Ad-Aware 6 Professional + keygen on KaZaA)

    You mean kazza media desktop?
I've been trying to get the full version of Maya 4.5, but can't find it.
I've used it, and it's pretty easy.
It really isn't geared for design.
It just lets you create computer animation.
I'm dying to get my hands on Studio Tools.
(It's by the same company that created Maya, but is geared towards industrial design. I saw some pictures of cool Sony gadget designs. It supposedly has the ability to design apparel and shoes as well.)

    Kazaa lite still best overall

Kazaa lite is the most accesible. Winmx sucks beyond belief since everything is always "remotely queued". Tried imesh and it flooded my pc with ads and stupid software that won't uninstall. Morpheus...well it's easier to get a job and buy the album with the songs you want or the dvds you want before you find anything on Morpheus. Note: imesh shows the exact search results as Kazaa lite. Too bad though winmx has the best resolutions for movies and rare stuff you can't find anywhere else. I have never heard of DC however, i will have to try that.
